Re: New Fender Player Jaguar PF Tidepool model for 2018
I saw these at my local guitar store in Oregon a couple of weeks ago. They have since disappeared. I think they weren't supposed to put them out yet. Oops!
The owner told me they are supposed to be replacing the Mexican standard series.
Sorry I don't know how to attach a pic. I hope this link works: https://photos.app.goo.gl/xfZAX2UBZ37qk6yp8

Thanks for embedding that for me! The Jag bass looked great. Hopefully they have normal single coil versions of these guitars (ie the Tele and Jazzmaster) and not just the HH models.

Real nice colour - would look great with a white pickguard!
If it is priced right one could always add the missing jag plates

That's actually pretty damn good.
My only gripe is that they've ditched 2 out of 3 of the chrome panels. Why do Fender keep doing this?
To me at least, all that chrome is a big part of what makes a Jag a Jag. The more shiny stuff the better.

I assume it's cheaper to produce.Stephen_42 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 2:21 amThat's actually pretty damn good.

It can't be a significant difference, surely? Squier VM Jags and Jaguars have the same RRP despite one having all the chrome and the other having none.

It looks pretty nice! I dig the color, a mint or parchment guard would be killer. I wonder if a chorme control plate would be too hard to fit . Can anybody tell what the upper switch does? I'd assume coil split for the bridge pup?

Is it me (probably) but is that Jag bass a short scale?
I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Looks pretty damned close to me. That's the perfect Jag color. I'm real curious about what the body routing looks like.

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

While I don't necessarily agree with this, a covered humbucker on this guitar would look so much better!
That's virtually pelham blue to me. Never heard of this color before, "Tidepool".
Jaguar > Jazzmaster :)

Probably 'cause there's tons of other options if you want a regular jag. In this point I'm with Fender on putting out different variations on the same body shape.Stephen_42 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 2:21 amMy only gripe is that they've ditched 2 out of 3 of the chrome panels.
