Squier to fender neck swapping

Post by shishaotaku » Sun Jun 03, 2018 1:46 pm

Hey everyone, I tried to find this topic but couldn't. I'm getting a Squier bullet mustang. I'm going to modify it and I want to swap out the neck for a fender one. Thinking duo sonic neck. It feels really comfortable to me. The original neck radius is 12" and a duo sonic neck is 9.5" would I have any problems with the swap? Thanks for the help

I believe the Mustang saddles are adjustable strat like ones so it should be no problem.

Thanks a bunch, wasn't sure. I'm gonna make it a noise/metal/punk machine

I swapped a Fender neck onto a Squier Jazz Bass. The new neck didn't come with tuners or a string tree, so I thought I'd use the Squier hardware. It's not the same size: the holes in the headstock are not the same size, and the holes for the screws aren't in the same place. Also, the metal the Squier screws are made of is very soft. Even with a good screwdriver, I stripped all the heads.

I bought Fender tuners, and the screws are made of much harder material.

I'm gonna change the bridge to a fender hard tail, or something better
