Re: the "whats on your concert list" thread
Been to a couple of fantastic heavy gigs in the past week. First up was Nadja - haven't seen them in a while, and they're still as powerful as ever.
Then was Amenra/Boris at St Luke's, with experimental cellist Jo Quail opening. My girlfriend and I had seen Jo in Leeds, opening for Myrkur, so it was good to see her again, this time in Glasgow. Boris were good, but we hadn't yet eaten due to the early start of the show, so we skipped out for food about halfway through. Amenra were crushingly intense, and the venue suited their stage set-up really well - they were able to make full use of the height of the venue for their projections.

Looking forward to these guys touring, the new album is great, very Souvlaki Slowdive.
Mogwai this Sunday night, the Aints (so Ed Kuepper doing the Saints) next Friday, Lowtide, Straight Arrows and Zeahorse are all doing shows.
And BRMC at the end of March.

I just saw Alvvays is playing the Capitol Hill Block Party. Maybe this year is the one I finally brave that shitshow.

Re: the "whats on your concert list" thread
Just saw Fazerdaze for the second time in 5 months, which is amazing because I'm in New York and she's a tiny little indie artist from New Zealand. She said at the show that she just loves coming to New York.
This show was even better than the one in November; she seems more used to playing with a band, and she didn't seem to run low on energy like she kind of did towards the end at the last show.
She's also really building up her stage presence. It's impossible to look away when she's up there. She seemed more confident this time, though she said she was really nervous when she played her one new song (which I wasn't sure about, and it featured no guitars).
