Semi hollow Jazzmaster

Post by surrealsheep » Mon Mar 12, 2018 12:44 pm

Hello,
I'd write here for first time :)
Anyone know great luthier/builder for semi hollow JM?
Local builders also welcome, my budget is around $2000-2500.
I love my offset made by Danocaster, but I want to try new possibility.

Please let me know your opinions!

Best Regards,
Aki

Deed_poll here on the forum may be able to help you for one.

If you can 'deal' with a body pretty much fresh off the CNC you can try Saylor Guitars https://www.ebay.com/sch/alpine_oregon/ ... pg=&_from= I know he made at least one in the past.

USAG may take you on possibly, although at the moment they seem to be perpetually behind schedule.
When thinking about any advice given always ask yourself "why would (s)he know more than I do".

I have one from Saylor that I got quite a while ago-7 years maybe- it's ash with bubinga top and no f hole. It's HEAVY, even chambered but I like it a lot. His do not have a "tummy cut" on the back... I've built 3 over the years since WITH the "tummy cut" on the back, sadly I never kept one for myself so it's on the build list. Unfortunately I don't do bodies/guitars for others these days, not enough time left and more of a hassle than I need at my age.

I'm sure Saylor can hook you up with a body but you will have to find someone to make it into a guitar or do it yourself-not that hard really.

I currently have a thinline Jag body from Saylor being finished by MJT. He does the JM as well. If you're in the U.K. or you want something truly custom (contours, channel-bound top, or whatnot) then Deed_Poll can hook you up.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

Thank you some ideas!!
I contacted Saylor, but he does not contours, definitely.
That's unfortunate, but Saylor with MJT is still one of my plan.

and I recieved message from Deed_Poll!!
He make really awesome guitars...very intersting, so I keep in touch to him!
