Does anyone have any experience with this pedal? Been thinking about putting a compressor on my board but so far I've not really liked any of the compressors i've tried. This seems like a cool alternative, I guess it has a small transformer in the pedal and the "bloom" feature is modeled after a neve preamp.

I had one for a while. It was a nice sounding boost but didn't gel for me. I didn't think it stood in for a compressor particularly well as bloom also seemed to add a dirt IME. If what you're looking for is a boost that compresses as it gains up another one you could try out that seemed to function similarly was the Fulltone 2B.

mm that's helpful, thanks. Yeah, I don't necessarily need more dirt so maybe it's not the right fit. I'll check out the fulltone, though I already have two fulltone gain pedals on my board...i guess if it's ain't broke don't fix it, right?

If you're looking for a compressor, is recommend this guy's reviews:

He's very picky as he's looking for compressors that gel with bass well. Any of his more interesting picks are decent compressors. I can personally recommend the EQD The Warden, Greer Amps Lamplighter, and Fairfield Circuitry's The Accountant. All a bit different than Ross/Dynacomp style compressors.
