Oh Mate!
That looks awesome! I have wanted a St V since I first saw one and you have made it happen, I cant describe how good that looks!

Genuinely emotional!

Man I'm so glad to help make that dream come true! It's also really interesting to actually feel it. I always liked the way they looked in pictures but I've never seen or played one.

It's definitely given me a ton of ideas for more of my own designs... I might even pick up the old Explorer / V thing again soon!

Real pleasure to work with you on this :)

I'm jealous of the guitar, and the machine that produced it, but where's the pizza? Also, did it come off the machine that clean, or is that after a bunch of additional sanding?
All pain and troubles melted away like lemon drops beyond the contrails across the sky.

So, @Deed_Poll, is it heavy, does it feel weird?

It only weighs 3lbs 12oz... And it feels great! I think you made the right choice with weight relief under the pickguard instead of a large rear route cavity. It means much of the weight that is there is well behind the bridge and should prevent any neck dive issues.

It looks a hell of a lot heavier than it is!!

Tammy, a lot of people call it the "pizza slice" because of the triangle shape made by the two contours in the front of the body ;)

That's after about 25 mins sanding, still a lot more to do. It's a good job Mahogany works so nicely. It's probably got another hour or so of sanding to go, and I have to route out a flush Electrosocket hole down close to the strap pin like this:

This is the one I did on Nate's Customaster (the wood is heat treated ash).

As far as machining times, I made sure to do quite a fine cut resolution on this one meaning it took about 3hrs total machine time.

Jason, I agree! I think one of the main reasons Paul came to me was because the EBMM guitar has the... Err... "Unusual" headstock shape. I'm not the biggest fan of it on the smaller and rounder Axis models, but I think there are definitely preferable shapes for this body style.

My first choice would be something like the Katana, or maybe the Flying V.

Cheers!

That would be a great looking headstock with it!! I was thinking something like my cut-down Warmoth Warhead shape, but more pointy!! Image

I wanted to keep the side by side tuner configuration and have had the neck socket made to fit a Dano neck that I have, Maple/Rosewood, Alloy nut) the headstock shape suits the body shape better than the MM, at least I think so!
Can't decide on colour, I think it should be bit mental so will more than likely be Burnt Orange, with matching headstock (Similar to a St V option) 3 x P90's rather than mini HB's, control layout follows the shape of the bevel edge unlike the real thing, black scratchplate......

Looks great! Are the body specs accurate? The tail looks a little more flared to my (drunk) eyes. Just out of curiosity how much would that body cost?

Body shape was traced into a pdf from a photo, so not totally accurate, but near enough for me...

Deed_Poll has a pricing structure which I am sure he would discuss with you....

Man, that is just gorgeous. Is it wrong that I want to see a jazzmaster tremolo on there though?
