Fook! Finally! Want!
Isn't that just a TVL in a different color, though?
Yep, pretty much a TVL in a new color, which isn't necessarily a bad thing! With out the signature mark up maybe it'll sell for a bit less.

Definitely, not a bad thing! Although, the TVL is a great colour. It would be nice if the new one sold for less, but given that it's an anniversary model, I'd be surprised. Since it's so much like the TVL, I suppose it will have a glossy neck, which is a bummer since Fender has been on a roll with the satin neck finishes lately.

Does anyone know the release date on these? I noticed, in addition to being on Fender's site, MF & Sweetwater have posted the Original series, but no sign of any anniversary JM models. I know back when the Road Worn JM & Jag came out, a batch was released without any official announcement (Fender made the formal announcement a couple months later at NAMM). When I bought my RW Jag, the guy @ CME said they just showed up & he didn't know if they were just going to be some kind of FSR or a new line. It seems Fender likes to keep people guessing.

I wished so hard for a B&B JM for so many years that I jumped on the TVL as soon as I was able to. Glad to see a "TVL clone" in another colour! I hope they do more runs like this. It's such a great look on a JM.

Good news then! Initial reports were that this has a 9.5 radius and 6150 frets like a Wildwood Thinskin. All historically accurate reissues with 7.25" and small frets are allegedly being moved to Custom Shop lines.

This was secondhand information when I heard it, so consider it unconfirmed (though the frets do look big in the photo).
Hope so. The only 7.25 JM I ever found playable was my Fender J Mascis in purple. The super jumbo frets made it far more playable than it should have been. My JM66B was so frustrating I got rid of it. Fuck little frets and round radiuses. I want to be able to play ALL styles on my main guitar, not just single string surf and spy.
I'm pretty sure that had a 10" radius
Bridge was a 12", but the radius of the neck was 7.25" for sure. I checked it with a gauge.

Well yeah, maybe it is, but I'd rather not pay extra for something I feel averse to in the first place. Nothing against TVL, but no matter how cool a signature model is (JMJM, Marr Jag, Ibanez ORM1 etc.), the signature affiliation feels just too much for me to overcome. But I guess that's just me.

Oh wow. Don't need... but want.
Can't justify at all though, have just spent a load of cash on putting Novaks and Staytrem bridge + trem in my CIJ
Daphne blue is the colour i really want though.

I hear you, I generally shy away from signature models for the same reason. However, the TVL was almost exactly how I would have designed my own signature guitar. I would have used a slightly different shade of red, but otherwise it was basically what I'd always wanted (nitro finishes are cool looking, but I don't buy into the whole "letting the wood breathe" BS so poly's not a deal-breaker). The list price is outrageous though, and they don't often come up used- when I did see a used one I jumped on it. It's a great guitar, it splits #1 duty with my LP Special.

So, I guess I was being a little bitchy about FMIC recycling the TVL- a B&B Jazzmaster with vintage trem placement in a non-standard color is a wonderful thing, let's hope they do more of that. I do recall the 50th anniversary Jaguars being ridiculously priced for what they were, though (essentially Classic Players with a B&B neck at a 50% markup) so let's hope these are more sensibly priced.

Blocks, binding, matching headstock, vintage specs AND fiesta red ticks off pretty much every box I've got. Though the TVL I played at a store in Nashville once didn't do that much for me. I didn't like the poly finish on the neck. I'm guessing these will be the same. Maybe take some microfiber to it and try to knock some of the plastic-y feeling off the back. Anyhow, I will preorder as soon as I see one.

The link above says a little over 1200 Euros. I'm guessing that will also be the price here, $1200.

Totally gonna sound nit-picky, but if their gonna go with a late sixties binding and blocks style, I wish they go all the way and use the larger CBS headstock....just sayin

No you're totally right. It's annoying that they specifically make decisions like that to keep it just shy, but very obviously so, of being any kind of reissue. Small headstock and a logo from years prior, it's annoying for sure.

I understand the decision to go with an opaque color because the TVL is metallic, but I just wish they'd do one in LPB. I know that I'm not the only one who holds that guitar up as my dream guitar so it'd be cool to see that available ij some form.

Lake Placid blue would kill in that format!

B&B began before the headstock shape changed. It may be more common to have the larger headstock shape with B&B, but it's not historically inaccurate to have the smaller headstock.

I didn't know that. I always thought the small headstocks on Jazzmasters where done by early 66. I guess small headstocks and blocks would have to be a transitional thing, must be pretty rare.

That French shop also has another US 60th anniversary Jazzmaster listed:

Yeah! THIS is the kind of stuff Fender should be doing, not that idiotic "random mix and match" shit. Looks like there's only one toggle on the upper bout, not a full rhythm circuit- I wonder what it does?
I think I see a strat-style pickup switch on the lower bout. Maybe 5 way, upper bout could be series/parallel, in/out phase or split coil.
