Ladies and Gentlemen, the winners of the "Beat Fender at their own Game" competition.
That Telejazz is drool worthy! And the Jagstrat has a lovely SG vibe to it and looks similar to John Squire's custom JagStrat.
Well done Zastruga and Rank!
Both of these builds follow the correct contours of pick guard and body whilst respecting the original designs.
IMHO They blow Fender's attempts out of the water ! :D
May the Fuzz be with you

With the pickup selection, resembles the Thinline Cabronita. Which imo was the best Fender guitar from the last 10 or so years.

Honestly, if they could just add/change the colors in the Classic Player/Classic '60s series. What I wouldn't give for a Sonic Blue JM that isn't a Squier or costs an arm and a leg.

The Jazz Tele... I have always wanted exactly that guitar and now they are doing it wrong. The proportions make it look like a home built leftover Partscaster. I have seen so many original designs by people on this board that are so much more beautiful than anything Fender has come up with in the last 5 years...
Yep.

To me, it screams, "Just go buy a Creston!"

The suspense surrounding all this hearsay and the leaked images is destroying me.

Excited to find out

- if the specific year reissues will in the future move to the custom shop

- if the new American Originals will be marketed like the 60s lacquers - like a "60s Jazzmasters" or a "70s Telecaster" because honestly that just makes very little sense. Most changes in a lot of these models took place in the 60s anyway, to where the only viable reissue left to do for Jaguars and Jazzmasters left would have been a 1966, and that's after the 62 and 65. Putting one out with 65 appointments and calling it a "60s Jazzmaster" seems dumb as hell to me.

- if the price will be ~ $2,000 as opposed to $2,500. That's nice comparatively, considering the elites or whatever are almost that much anyway.

- hoping to god they do a bunch of colors. It's surprisingly hard to find any kind of archive of what fender has released, even in recent years, as far as colors go but we all know that the AVRI line was littered with cool colors, while the AV65 line had, what, 5 colors total (aside from thin skins)?

- if they are just going to have a decade designation, it'd be nice to see some different ones for the offsets. maybe they'll be "mid-60s Jazzmaster" and it'll be what we've seen in the pics so far and then we'll see a "late-60s Jazzmaster" and my dreams will be made reality by being able to essentially buy a 66 reissue.

Excited for NAAM and please, if any of you are going and are reading this right now, any of these questions that you could possibly answer would really mean a lot to me. I'd give anything to go this year!

They'll make you one of those right now, just call the Custom Shop and bring your wallet.

I'm getting closer and closer to solving this problem by pulling the trigger on a build. I've found that for just under the price of a used AV '65, I can have a Jazzmaster built to my specs, including handwound pickups and a B&B neck w/painted headstock. It won't say "Fender" on the headstock, but I think I can live with that. Now, LPB, Ocean Turquoise or Dakota...

That thing wants a parchment guard so bad.

Other than that, I don't see anything to criticize. Looks good!

Nothing I don't already have in my '65 except a different fingerboard radius. Why would I spend $2,000 on another one that's got a slightly flatter fingerboard radius and missing a Matching Headstock?
I'm in Marching Band and play Guitar. That's about it, pretty boring, isn't it?

If you already have a '65, you're probably not the target market for this one. Fender seems to think there's a large demographic of buyers whose only attachment to offsets is the body shape, and who consider the trem system and 7.25" radius to be drawbacks that keep them from buying. The American Special of a few years ago was an appeal to those supposed buyers, at least they left the trem on this one. A few years from now they can re-introduce the '65 as the '66, with a "vintage correct" Fullerplast finish that costs less to produce.

As someone who strongly prefers a flatter radius and dislikes matching headstocks, I love it!

I would definitely have considered one of these had they been available when I bought my 50th Anniversary Jag.
