Re: 60th Anniversary 58 reissue
oh, I think many people were waiting for that colour and hardware combination. The pictured one has a nice burst and grain. I'd be interested to know whether they simply threw in their standard AV65 PU's or went for something fancier.

Yeah, I wish there was a spec sheet, but at least we know what it looks like.

They’ve taken the pics down. Did anyone get a copy of the photos?

This with a 9.5 radius would be perfect for me.

Good news then! Initial reports were that this has a 9.5 radius and 6150 frets like a Wildwood Thinskin. All historically accurate reissues with 7.25" and small frets are allegedly being moved to Custom Shop lines.
This was secondhand information when I heard it, so consider it unconfirmed (though the frets do look big in the photo).

Hope so. The only 7.25 JM I ever found playable was my Fender J Mascis in purple. The super jumbo frets made it far more playable than it should have been. My JM66B was so frustrating I got rid of it. Fuck little frets and round radiuses. I want to be able to play ALL styles on my main guitar, not just single string surf and spy.mbene085 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2018 7:36 amGood news then! I mean, I'm obviously not going to convince you of this, but a vintage radius and small frets don't preclude different styles. I play 24" jags and mustangs with 7.25" radii, vintage frets, and .010's (the cardinal sin!). Big bends, fuzzed out alt/indie, blues session work, Chet Atkins style fingerpicking...In my experience, it's purely a matter of setup.BoringPostcards wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2018 8:23 amHope so. Back when I first got my first Jag a good 15+ years ago, I definitely believed that it "couldn't" do all that stuff, but over time, my electric guitar collection became my offset collection, and I think I currently only have two guitars flatter than 7.25".

Re: 60th Anniversary 58 reissue Jazzmaster
that's pretty cool! from this first peep, anyway.
hope they have one or two at NAMM that i can check out.
i won't be tempted though, i just did a custom offset with the '58 look with a maple neck.
if i didn't have a few awesome Jazzys already, i'd be looking into this!
definitely my favorite look, although on another day it's Firemist Silver or IBM with a matching headstock.
we sure have sure have seen a lot more choices since the early years of OSG!

Re: 60th Anniversary 58 reissue Jazzmaster
I know it can be done, but I live in Newfoundland and the weather has me tweaking a 7.25 much more often than is necessary with a flatter neck radius. I should have mentioned that. My bad!mbene085 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2018 9:16 amI mean, I'm obviously not going to convince you of this, but a vintage radius and small frets don't preclude different styles. I imagine it's a fair bit more humid than it is here in OntarioC but we get our share of wild temperature swings.BoringPostcards wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2018 10:45 pmI know it can be done, but I live in Newfoundland and the weather has me tweaking a 7.25 much more often than is necessary with a flatter neck radius. Play what makes you happy. For me, that's 7.25" but variety is the spice of life, etc.
