Eh, they'll do a few hundred of each and then they'll be gone. Somebody will like them.

FMIC might want to hire actual designers instead of just throwing darts at a list of features and randomly assembling bits from all their other products.

Well, now we know why they discontinued the pawn shop line... these look like they're born of the same seed - just, next step.
So hey... rather than come up with something new - let's rehash the same bitzers and call them something "new".
Ugh, marketing :fp:

Awesome, Apple is getting product/design inspiration from Warmoth (who has offered both of these body styles - Tele shape with Strat guts, and Strat shape with Tele guts - for at least four years).

I don’t know if they actually SELL in any sort of numbers (you don’t see them in customer gallery or the Warmoth forum), but since when does that seem to be a concern to Fender? :)

The lines are odd - and I'm not a fan of the F in the pickguard - but I applaud Fender trying something new.
What F in the pickguard?

Look in the lower horn...you'll see a stamped/cut-out spaghetti style "F" in the pickguard of each model (the black and butterscotch).

**CLARIFICATION: The "F" is in the Voyager prototype pics on page 1, not the Meteora (if it is, it's not visible in the pics). The person you quoted was referring to the Voyager...

Yeah I realized that, just double checked if I was missing it on the meteora.

As others have said, I think it would look a lot better with a different headstock, perhaps something more like the Starcaster. I think that would be a cool, funky look...

It would look better with a different neck, different body shape, different pickguard and a different color.

A reverse small Strat headstock wouldn't be bad.

I'd like to see it in something like Sherwood.

I like it, but it needs a JM vibrato and a Swinger/Arrow/Performer type headstock!

Like others, I think I'd like it if it had a funky-shaped headstock. Something like a warped rhomboid?

Some people will buy them and reshape the headstock themselves. Some will do a hack job of adding a vibrato. Some might even try to "improve" the shape of the body. Then 30 years later they will show up in the "Why did you do it? Why did you do this thing to me?" thread.
