less behind-the-strings tones + looks kinda wrongRandyRandom wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2017 12:50 amwhy is everybody hateing on the new bridge position? i like it a lot, because the strings tension is way better, but nonetheless im cool with the classic position aswell.HNB wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2017 6:19 pmWithout the moved tremolo please.....sunburster wrote:In 2012 they made a 50th anniversary Jag with a mix of features from different years old and new (B&B neck, nitro finish, no matching headstock, tremolo moved closer to bridge, hotter pickups, uncommon colors (Burgundy Mist, Lake Placid Blue)). Would be cool if they tried something like that for the Jazzmaster's 60th.

Re: 60th Anniversary Jazzmaster?
what be cool was they still made av65 with some colors choice not only sunburst and white
the ice blue is one i love really ,they didn't have to make risk on color
lake placid or otm or ice blue with matching
BMM!! /black with matching ,sherwood green ,gold ect...
the pink one was most risky cause not taste of every body
but a nice candy apple red with matching i take it too ,fiesta red ,sonic blue ect.... are colors they will sale
for years strat and télé are available in most cool colors why not jazz and jag !,the av 62 when they become available were possible to choose between fews color ,moreover now offset are less retricted market lot more of users since 10 years
for the placement of trem i am happy with the old and the new ,for vintage accuraty the old is better ,but for others the new placement is less string jump ,more easy to set up with light gauge ect... (it is for more modern version of design like with humbucker ,tom ...)
in fact we need color before all !

Re: 60th Anniversary Jazzmaster?
I remember that - some of those guitars were really great too. I briefly owned a Tele Custom that was like a cross with a '70s Jazz Bass (contour top, maple neck with black blocks and contour back in all natural finish).Homeless Blueless wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2017 4:29 pmFender did a great job with the Telebration series that it made for the Telecaster 60th anniversary in 2011. There was a different telecaster for every month, with a mix of traditional models and new ideas like use of different woods and unique designs (e.g. necks with block markers that never existed before).
I think there was more of a commercial reason to give that a try with the Telecaster - as much as the offset models aren't seen as being as weird or quirky as when OSG started, they're still not as mainstream as a Telecaster. Also ... if I recall correctly, those Telebration models were all sold at discounted rates by the end of the year - I don't think that experiment turned out great for Fender.
They will mark it in some way. The Jazzmaster is still one of those iconic Fender designs.

Seattle Guitars Instagram just leaked them - American Original Series looks to be the rebadged AV65, and there’s a 60th anniversary reissue of the 58 prototype

It's not exactly speculation... that stuff came from a Fender dealer's site. I knew someone would jump the gun, and someone did.NICQ wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2018 5:33 amread some speculations on the strat forum about the Original Series

The American Originals seem to be basically Thin Skins -- vintage-spec, but with 9.5" radius and 6105 frets. Works for me. I just hope there's a Jag.

The Instragram page/link seems to have gone or been pulled. When it was up it had 2 JMs, one of which (the 60th anni one I believe) looked quite like a CS 58 model from a couple years back. Black pickup covers and a gold anodised scratchplate.

Re: 60th Anniversary Jazzmaster?
FWIW, here's the instagram pic:
Very intrigued by the "original Jazzmaster" specs (the blue one) and wondering if it will replace the AV series? That' tort looks way dark. The60th anniversary looks a lot like the 1958 Custom Shop version. I'm surprised (but not complaining!) they were so traditional about it. Thought they'd go a similar way than the Jaguar 50th anniversary.
