Fender Jazzmaster Japan - A little help
Hello.
First of all, sorry about my english as it is not my primary language.
I've recently acquired a supposedly 2007~2008 Fender Jazzmaster Made In Japan. Although i ended up loving the guitar, I was a little curious about it's color.
As you can see by the images(https://imgur.com/a/711Ro), it's a two piece body with a two tone sunburst.
I ostensibly search on internet about more japanese made Jazzmasters in this color but couldn't find any that looked like the one I got.
Maybe I have got a fake one? A refinish?
Please, if you have any info about it or anything that can led me to solve this puzzle, I'll be more than glad.
Thank you all.

No worries, the guitar itself is real! I think it's a "Fender Japan Limited Edition JM66/ALG"

You’re more than welcome. Despite being called a JM66, it’s in fact a guitar loosely based on a 1958 jazzmaster. The designation JM58 would’ve been more correct.

Thats great. I`ve been cheking out the American Reissue model from 1958. That was the only jazzmaster that looked similar to the one i got.
Anyways it`s a very nice guitar.
Do you know anything about the type of finish? Poly/Nitro?

There have only been a few MIJ guitars to ever use nitro, and they were limited-release runs of reissue Strats and Teles. This looks to be poly, like every other MIJ JM I have ever seen.faustodabanda wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2017 5:37 pmThats great. I`ve been cheking out the American Reissue model from 1958. Fun fact- the model designation JM-66 had to do with the original price of 66,000 Yen, not the year 1966. That's why there are so many unbound, dot-inlay JM66's. The suffixes designated cosmetics - JM66-B for Block inlays, JM66-ALG for Aluminum Guard.

Sure am, a huge one at that. Took time off from work and drove down from Canada to Boston to catch the back-to-back shows in October. Was great to see them back at it.faustodabanda wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2017 3:51 amYeah, it feels like poly, anyways.mbene085 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2017 5:49 pm

Looks like you have good taste in both guitars and in music.
As for the guitar, I suggest considering black pickup covers and either silver knobs for the full '58 catalog look, or black knobs. It's my favourite gold guard colour combo.
