Whoever did it, did a decent job. The neck is stamped as a strat, so I initially wondered if the guys in the factory were just phoning it in toward the end of the 70s; grabbing blank strat necks and cutting the headstock into the Starcaster shape (sans fancy bit) when they needed one. But the neck is way too flat for a strat, so I guess the previous owner just hated the headstock. That Peavey T-60 might look better than the original (IMO) if the flat upper edge curved with the pickguard.
