I'd be good with a reissue of the thin skins that they did in sunburst/blonde with the gold guard.

A 60th Anniversary model with those specs and black covers etc could tempt me into a new purchase.
That would be entirely appropriate for a 60th anniversary JM. But hopefully without a custom shop price tag.

Pussies.

The only way to keep rawk alive is to give the Jazzmaster to Jackson. Pointy headstock, neck through, Floyd Rose, pickups with more power than Kim Jong-il and of course fully slathered with an airbrushed large breasted woman riding a flaming Alicorn out of hell. Oh and...a fret for every year.

MFGA with the Jackmaster.

D

Not too far away from this...

Am I the only one who wishes Fender would expand the line of Jazzmasters/Jaguars to that of the Strat or Telecaster? A standard Jazzmaster with original specs and in a variety of colours, price probably around £500-£600, original electronics, pickup configuration etc. Instead of the horrible Fender Standard Jazzmaster with humbuckers. Misses the point completely. It goes so far to say that many "grunge" players modified their Jazzmasters in such a way.
That was Kurt Cobain with a Jaguar and he didn't even modify it, he bought it second hand with humbuckers.

Custom colours standard Jazzmaster would be nice too.

The Jaguar doesn't even have a standard model. This is a terrible oversight from Fender IMO.
I agree in principal but am thinking that the execution at this point would be prohibitively expensive and like most of their guitar models "non-inclusive" in regards to orientation. The other issue I think would be whether to include the mute on the Jaguar. I've never used one. Is it really a piece of shit or is it like the Dynamic Vibrato where you just have to do a little extra work in setting it up?

I agree. I'd love to see a consortium of Jazzmasters released for the 60th anniversary. I was just hoping this last week.

Fender did a great job with the Telebration series that it made for the Telecaster 60th anniversary in 2011. There was a different telecaster for every month, with a mix of traditional models and new ideas like use of different woods and unique designs (e.g. necks with block markers that never existed before).

I doubt that Fender could justify doing a full scale Jazzbration for the Jazzmaster 60th but there is undoubtedly a strong following for the Jazzmaster now. So many people have discovered the Jazzmaster, know how to set it up to work properly and there is a big after-market for modifying them. I don't see the Jazzmaster ever going back to being a maligned model.

A mini Jazzbration is in order, with a but more effort than just a single 60th anniversary model. I haven't bought a guitar in quite a while but I would be into a Jazzbration.

sunburster wrote:In 2012 they made a 50th anniversary Jag with a mix of features from different years old and new (B&B neck, nitro finish, no matching headstock, tremolo moved closer to bridge, hotter pickups, uncommon colors (Burgundy Mist, Lake Placid Blue)). Would be cool if they tried something like that for the Jazzmaster's 60th.
Without the moved tremolo please.....
why is everybody hateing on the new bridge position? i like it a lot, because the strings tension is way better, but nonetheless im cool with the classic position aswell.
:D Gotta love them Offsets :D

Any other austrians around here?
