To clear this up... (Short-er Scale Jag?)
If the old 22.5" scale necks are interchangeable on mustangs and musicmasters, then they ought to be with jags as well right? Any examples would be wonderful.
I'm sure this has been asked a million times over but I can't seem to find any such threads. Thanks dudes

I've sold a 22'5" MM neck to a guy here last year, and he had put it on a jag body for his wife.
Doable !!!!

Would assume it would work. Been thinking about doing this myself.

I don't have big hands, but those 22.5" scale necks? Tiny! Good for kids and people with small hands.

Ermmm..hang on guys, I don't get it...
...last time I checked, Jags are 24" scale, so how could a different scale neck mount and be in tune all over the fretboard?

Is the bridge position on a 22.5" MM different than a 24" MM?zhivago wrote:Ermmm..hang on guys, I don't get it...

The 22-fret shorter-than-short necks are conversion necks, aren't they? a 22.5" scale Mustang has the same body as a normal 24" scale one, right?zhivago wrote:Ermmm..hang on guys, I don't get it...

Re: To clear this up... (Short-er Scale Jag?)
I am just asking...the distance between saddle and nut is meant to be a certain amount, right? 24"?
if these are adjustment necks of some sort, then that is great...I don't know that much about the student models (aside form having a '74 Mustang when I was 17 and two japanese Jaguars).
So what you guys are saying is that these 22.5" necks fit on 24" Fender guitars?

Yep!!!zhivago wrote: So what you guys are saying is that these 22.5" necks fit on 24" Fender guitars?
Hugues (HH1978 on the forum, he sadly doesn't come often these days) and I did the measurements, and it worked.

Yeah- 22.5 is the distance from the first fret of a 24'' inch guitar to the bridge. It's just like capoing the at the first fret.
I had a '56 musicmaster for a while and didn't have ANY problem with the scale length. It's no big deal.

I've had a project kicking around in the back of my head that I'll move forward on at some point.. I want to get a '60s Jag body and a basket case 22.5" Musicmaster neck, then convert it to a 4 string TENOR. A fucking TENOR Jaguar.. I ALMOST bought the neck a few weeks ago.
This isn’t some kind of metaphor

That sounds like a great plan, add lots of fuzz and it will totally rock!!

I got one of those little Eastwood Warren Ellis tenors a while back and it is seriously the most fun I've had in years. I really like the wide string spacing and 23" scale. Using an old Fender student scale would be a nice pair up I think. I think Jag pickups would lend themselves really well to it also.

Shitty picture, because photobucket (this comes from a google cache), but: identical bodies.
