80tape In Limbo III
stumbled upon 2 YT videos regarding this delay and immediately contacted the builder in New Zealand.
soon he was telling me there was a fresh batch about to be cooked up and he'd see if he could include me.
he did, and i'm glad he did.
this delay is pretty damn incredible. i didn't lose my mind over the EQD Avalanche Run, thought the Fairfield Meet Maude was a bit too murky,
but this thing gives me that thick dark sound with all kinds of different warbles. i've not yet been able to use it with an expression pedal, but i think
i must to realize what it can really do.
check this thing out:

Re: 80tape In Limbo III
That is a KILLER delay!! Around 4:00 when he did the X4 cycles per repeat, it was almost tremolo like. That is really really cool. You'll have to do some demos of your own when it comes in
Also, I kept thinking two things:
1) it could make a bass rig sound really ambient and aaesome, and
2) put the modulation on heavy, with ALL your other modulation on too! Might make you sea-sick!

Re: 80tape In Limbo III
I'm so glad you posted this. I saw the same video a few weeks back and immediately started researching this pedal but stopped short when I saw it was sold out and couldn't find any used. But based on your post I emailed the builder and now I have one coming too. So...thanks! I'm excited to try this....seems like a very fun and creative pedal, with maybe some minor similarities to some of the features of my count to 5 but more of a feature rich analogue delay then crazy digital delay/looper like the ct5.
edit: they are available on the online store now, assuming they are not sold out yet.

I was so close to pulling the trigger on a trade for one, but I just couldn't quite convince myself to get rid of a F*ck OD for one. I really like the arpeggiation aspect of the Limbo. I was interested in using it for padding with bass. I don't remember being wowed by its standalone delay sound, but that could have been me looking for reasons not to trade the F*ck.

The first few seconds of that video brought Broadcast/Radiophonic Workshop to mind. No bad thing. I can see why it's already sold out.

it's not going anywhere.
if i had to whittle down 12-ish pedals i'd just be left with the Limbo and a RAT.

Re: 80tape In Limbo III
I've been really intrigued by the 80tape stuff over the past year. What are the differences between the different In Limbo versions (big vs small box)?

i think the larger box is stereo & has a separate wet/dry knob.
mine is mono and just has a Level knob.

Re: 80tape In Limbo III
Mine came and so far I'm very happy with it BUT I just can't figure out what the envelope modulation does...any chance you "get it" it and could explain it to me? I mean the pedal is plenty versatile without it but it just bothers me i might be missing even more fun.
