Volume Pedals!
Space on my board is something I'm always trying to keep to a minimum. EQD has since gone to almost all top jacks, which helps, as much as purging a few pedals I don't use. I use my volume pedal quite a bit (mostly for swells and sort of ambient stuff). I like my Hilton Guitar Pro, but with side jacks and a big-ass knob on the side of it, it's not exactly pedalboard friendly. I got it because I wanted a volume pedal that had no pot or string to wear out. I just found out last night that Lehle has a pot-less volume pedal with all top jacks (use a hall sensor and magnets )
As much as I'm a big fan of full-size volume pedals, I am also kinda looking at the AMT volume pedal, which would get rid of the need for a volume pedal sized cutout on my board, but I'm not sure I'll like a half size volume pedal for my main board.
Anyone ever play either?

Re: Volume Pedals!
I just scored a amt llm2 recently for $66au should arrive in a few days, so lucky! Shall be awesome as I already have the japanese girl wah.
Never bothered with volume pedals until recently, tried a morley mini volume and it was ok but the travel on it was too short for the real estate it took up.
That Lehle is ugly as fuk tho. xD

I like it, but the rubber pads are too light colored. I saw a post where this guy removed them (apparently just a sticky back) and put on skateboard grip tape. Looked MUCH better.soggy mittens wrote:I just scored a amt llm2 recently for $66au should arrive in a few days, so lucky! Shall be awesome as I already have the japanese girl wah.

It's nice looking, but with side jacks, it would be essentially what I already have...marqueemoon wrote:These things were all the rage with churchybros a few years ago.

I think just the tuner out is on a side jack.

Ever try one Marquee? I'm really liking the size of it, though I would still prefer one without a pot...

I had an Ernie Ball VPjr, and used the hell out of it, but always hated that string.marqueemoon wrote:I have not.Shadoweclipse13 wrote:Ever try one Marquee? I'm really liking the size of it, though I would still prefer one without a pot...

I have a Morley volume pedal that is over 20 yrs. old and still alive and well. Not sure about the newer ones but mine is built like a tank and has never given me any trouble.

Re: Volume Pedals!
My favourite is the Schaller F121
It's a bit big (I actually have a Boss FV50H on my live board) but I find the action and sweep very intuitive after having used one for over 30 years now(!). It's just made of plastic but my original one is still going strong. The only thing is that there are a couple of back-stops that need to be removed to get it to zero-volume without limiting the maximum volume (by messing with the pot).
I've tried many alternatives over the years but I guess as it was the first one I ever had, it's the one I feel most comfortable with. If only it were a little shorter!

Re: Volume Pedals!
The Lehle is incredible and I highly recommend it. Such a smooth pedal, very high quality (like everything they make) and a really great inbuilt boost. Here's mine on my board.

I can't wait.ziess wrote:The Lehle is incredible and I highly recommend it. Such a smooth pedal, very high quality (like everything they make) and a really great inbuilt boost. Re: Volume Pedals!
I just happened to get a Morley Mini Volume this past week to replace an Ernie ball VolJr that was acting up (and taking up too much board space -- my secondary concern.)
I'll agree with the the others that said it doesn't have enough travel. It is really hard to tell where it is in the sweep without putting your foot on it and rocking a bit to get an idea of the sweep / volume.. which means it may not be that great in an actual song if you're constantly trying to "seek your volume" by quickly rocking back and forth while playing.
Do all mini volume pedals suffer from this due to their small sweep and being unable to judge the current "setting"?
