Hello from Munich

Post by rk75muc » Thu Nov 10, 2016 12:32 pm

Hi there, greetings from Munich, Germany!

Great forum, a wealth of information and very friendly people, I like that!

I recently rediscovered my passion for guitars after many years of playing very little, so I went to the cellar and dug up my sort of Jazzmaster-like Framus and the Squire Bullet. The latter is in pieces, since many years ago I started to modify it but never finished...

Currently, I am amp-less, but I am planning to get a small Line6 Amplifi for christmas! I see myself mostly sitting on the sofa with my headphone on (so as not to annoy the wife and the kids too much, lol) tinkering with sounds and jamming along.

I want to get the Squire at least into shape to be playable, and I actually like the Framus a lot.

However, ever since I first saw one, I wanted to have a Jaguar, for me, the most beautiful guitar in the world!

So, I am going to build one!

Currently, I am in the planning phase, and will start actual building probably at the beginning of next year. However, my experience is rather limited, so I already have a ton of questions, and will probably have many many more once I actually start.

I hope to see you guys in the respective threads and am confident that with your help I can build my dream guitar!

All the best,
Robert

Hi Robert. Welcome and very nice to have you here. Just so you know, every time you mention a cool old guitar that was stored in the attic for a long time, someone will come in and say "pictures, or it didn't happen". I'm not saying that I'm saying that, but just a warning. :)

Seriously though welcome to OSG, and consider a Roland (Micro) Cube series too, for a small home amp.

Servus aus Augsburg ;-)

As a small and handy practice amp I can recomend the Yamaha THR series.

What a beauty! They're like brother and sister!

Concerning an amp, I am in the meantime strongly considering the Boss GT-001 together with a nice pair of high quality headphones. Any comments on this?

back in the day, i used to own some old (low end) Framus stuff which was horrible to play and impossible to set up... so i kinda lost track of these.

Greetings & salutations from 5700 feet above the Lost Angels cauldron, Robert.

Those Framus tuning buttons are a lost art, imo. :-*
gratz on the passion resurrection,
looking forward to seeing Your squire & a jag coming to life.

Hi from Bielefeld!
I feel this is a great spot to renew the picture from my introductory thread, which eventually got lost.
talking about brother and sister:

(guitar is in pieces right now due to headstock restoration, when I'm done I hope that I can put it to good use again. Maybe we should hold a convention?)
Pop is the most wonderful music – as long as it's played with three basses, a string section, and two french horns going "Vroop-Vrooo".

Yep, quite impossible to set up, I agree...

Very nice, I love the tremolo!

May we should hold a convention! Is there such a thing as a Framus aficionados community in Germany??
