Spitfire and which Jazzmaster?

Post by johnnyx » Fri Jul 01, 2016 8:21 pm

So I just got my new (to me) Spitfire tort today from another forum member but still having trouble deciding which guitar it should go on so I figure I'd get a 2nd opinion. Thoughts?

This is what I was thinking, but I think they all look good in their own way. I'm thinking of the blonde even tho I like the gold guard on it...but then again I can try the gold on something else...? As much as I am morally opposed to tort on LPB, I think it looks kinda good in this case. :w00t:

Maybe I've had too much to drink but it looks a lilltle boring on the blonde.
I'm going BMM - for the meantime. :)

You should add a poll to your post.

My vote is the Lake Placid Blue

I wouldn't have thought so, but BMM all the way!

I'm still liking it on the BMM strangly, but it would be fun to put it on the blonde and try the gold guard on a different JM.
John, you should take pics of all of your JM's with the gold guard and mint guards too. Then we could see all of the different permutations. I volunteer you for this project! It's for the good of OSG. :)

I definitely need to restring the blonde so while I have the strings off I'll pull the guard too. But I think I'm going to put the Spitfire on the BMM for now at least. I'll post pics of the gold guard on the others and the BMM when I put the Spitfire on it.

Houston we may have a little bit of a problem...

I am going to have to widen the pot holes on the guard a little bit somehow since they don't quite fit but here's what it will look like...kinda...

Also the OEM guard is a little wider by the jack and as a result the shielding will show a little bit...unless I cut it...
