Joey painted headstock, AVRI Trem, Staytrem Drop In, Novak Vintage JM in neck, Fat JM in bridge, chrome painted overs, '65 RI knobs, and rewired with proper parts. Deco boom guard. Hopefully ill beat the crap out of it now so it stops looking so new!
That's the first "novelty" pickguard I've actually liked. Awesome.

Might sound silly, but does anyone here have two of these guitars? i have one, it's a great guitar, and I like the neck so much, that I'm thinking of grabbing a second one to heavily mod.

nothing silly about that. it's a wonderful thing if a neck you love so much can be had for between 100 and 200 bucks.

I've got two. Both modded to slightly different degrees. Replacement pickups, bridges, scratchplates and knobs

That white-on-white look is SO slick. Every time I see that on a Jazzmaster in particular I do a double take.

Previously owned by veryredtomatoes. He painted the body in Ultramarine Blue milk paint. Poor lighting in the pic. I can only describe it as a rustic, satin neon-ish navy/midnight blue. It's strung with 12's. All I can say is it's wonderful. Very lightweight for a JM and I can't recommend Timbo's pickups enough.

Mods include:
-Timbo's Big n Little black bobbin pickups
-CTS 250k pots w/.033 cap
-Switchcraft 3-way switch and output jack
-Tone-Guard anodized black pickguard (minus rhythm circuit)
-Staytrem drop-in bridge
-Strider13/Faction hardtail conversion plate

Future Mods:
-Bone nut
-Tuners (Sperzel? Gotoh?)
-Mastery trem if I want a trem again
"Over time, I've realized that the comforts I most prized will all clean my bones and circle like flies" -The Arrivals, The Ballad of Lon Stokes

Hey this is kinda important because I'm about to spend some money here - can anybody tell me about a mint pickguard that'll for sure fit a JMJM with no problems, and will the white witch hats fit the stock pots on these until I can get them replaced with some better CTS ones or something? Relatively soon I'm gonna get new pickups installed but I can't get over how good the guard and witch hats look on these guys so I'd like to do it ASAP, even though I can't get the guts of the work done until probably after Christmas sometime.

Thanks in advance!

OH I can snag an allparts guard cheap but I've heard that those only fit vintage bodies? Again any help is much appreciated!

All US Pickguards fit the Mascis Squier - the Original Fender one for example fits perfectly or any aftermarket that fits US and not Import (beware: Allparts = import)
Fender's Witch Hat knobs fit the stock pots.. they have small screws anyways to adjsut

Good to know, thanks so much! Gonna try the EY one I guess because it's only like $10 somehow and looks fine.

Anyone ever put a pearloid pickguard on a Mascis? Curious about how that would look.

So what I said upthread about changing the bridge being pointless - shoot me, please? Broke a string tonight and wasn't even playing, and now that I have the real version to compare the AOM setup just kind of sucks. I've been waiting on a neck to return from a paint job so that I can upgrade another Jazzmaster (Classic Player) but now I'm kind of thinking of just going for it with the Mascis instead - I have a Staytrem drop-in, a new set of pickups, all the pots and wiring and stuff, I'm just missing the pickguard and knobs. Only thing is, I also realllllllllllly wanna send the neck of the Mascis to Joey so he can paint the headstock and once I do all the other stuff there's no way I'm gonna want to take it apart again and deal with all the hoops of getting the headstock painted.

This kind of sucks and I'm in a definite bind right this second so I'll probably end up just sticking to my original plan and wait for this neck to get back to me and finish up with the classic player sigh
