Graph of serial no. & year for transition between dots & blocks (+ 2nd graph)

Post by sookwinder » Sat Nov 11, 2006 2:45 pm

This graph shows the serial no. data I have collected over the past year or two for both vintage Jaguars and Jazzmasters, with "dots & binding" or "blocks & binding".

when we eventually get a 'technical info" section this may well be moved to that location, but until then it seems this is the least offensive place to locate it.

Thanks Sook.

I noticed a couple of B&B serials even earlier than my 66 JM with the feb66 neck. Shows that they're all over the shop!

It'd be interesting to chart it by neck date month too.  I have a dot/bound '65 that is I think an August neck date.

Only a small percentage of my data  has the actual month date taken from the neck stamp.  Here is the graph anyway.

It is interesting to note that the somewhat out of place "blocks & binding Jazzmaster" with a Feb 66 date had the following additional dates:
pots 8th week of ’66
bobbins 4-15-66
