Holy Wave...
Any likers?
There's been several interesting sounding psych bands coming out of late but these folks have something I really like about them.
They kind of remind me of Syd Barrett & Bradford Cox in a band signed to Shimmy Disc.
Brahman
Arab Spring
Golden Truth
Albuquerque Freakout
Unfortunately I missed their recent gig in London. Hopefully they fly by again soon.

You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

Indeed. Throw in Nightbeats & The Black Angels too. Definitely making Mr Erickson proud.floater wrote:Great band!
Another Austin band rockin' out:

Your annual music festival has become something of a "must do, eventually" for me & and my wife, especially now that the venue's moved to somewhere more rural. Have you been?
I actually have relatives living in Austin but I'm not so sure I'd want to ask them to put us up. It's a bit cheeky for a start. They're also deeply religious & may well frown upon a festival that is so closely related to getting high.

I haven't been yet, and it's always the best lineup, seconded by funfunfun fest.
I'm a low key dude and prefer the smaller venues around town. I do feel pretty lame though--living in Austin and not going to all the great festivals.
I hope you eventually make it to town for the psych fest.

Re: Holy Wave...
Some mates saw them with GOAT, they thought they were decent and bought me their new LP (in orange). I have the first one too but I think the new one seems quite good, possibly better but I've not listened to it properly yet, since I'm a wee bit backlogged.PorkyPrimeCut wrote:

You can listen to the whole of the new LP here.

Re: Holy Wave...
Cool.
We actually caught them again a few weeks back & they were brilliant. One of the best bands I've seen in a while. They just have something about them & are a lot of fun on stage. They were actually supporting Christian Bland & The Revelators (who were indeed bland & not a revelation at all). Fortunately Holy Wave played what felt like a full set.
I'll be seeing Acid Baby Jesus soon aswell new ally looking forward to it.

Thanks for bringing this back because I missed it the first time.
Great stuff. PPC delivers again. That is really enjoyable. Nice to hear something new that gets you right away.
