1959 Fiesta Red Jazzmaster Project (done, pg 9)

Well here we go again! I haven't even finished my 62 Jaguar and I'm taking this one on.....thank you kosmonautmayhem! The body arrived safe and sound! Ok well my plan was to just swap my current 62 avri jazz body for a sunburst one but this 59 came up and I couldn't pass it up. My goal is to slowly exchange my avri parts it's originals so I will always have a functioning jazzmaster. Currently everything is avri except the body. I've ordered a 59 repro neckplate and I think for the neck I'll use musikraft. In the short term I'm seeking out a patent pending tremolo (if anyone has any leads let me know!) then get the neck, then get the refin done and then possibly the electronics...I've always like the sound of my avri so this May end up being a mix match fantasy tribute piece...I'm pretty sure there are 3 OSG members I'm going to recruit to help me get this done. So far my only question is about the placement of the pickguard screw holes....

All the screw holes line up except for this one....what's the deal with that!?

No idea about the screw hole??? That's really odd. Even the shrunken '63 tort guard I had fit perfect on this one. Have you tried another guard?

At the moment it's my only jm guard, the screw hole that doesn't line up is about a half inch north of the hole on the pickguard
I just looked again it's actually just next to the. Pickguard hole*

been there, done that.
if the hole lined up on a shrunken guard, there's a chance that there was an original hole that was dowelled and redrilled in a slightly different position.
i remember i dropped 2 different AVRI guards on my stripped 59 body and they lined up VERY well.
But when i later installed an original and slightly shrunken guard, i dowelled and redrilled.

I have a extra hole in my 59', because I put a AVRI pickguard on at first. They are not like the old ones. that hole is different.
