Yes, Northern. You should. At maximum retail price. (Shhhh....don't tell anyone. This is just a ruse to get people to jack up the prices on these so I can become STINKING RICH!!!)

On topic, the DMM is a lot more percussive and brighter on the repeats. Apart from having a nice modulation to dial its still pretty different. When I want to 'play' the delay more and have repeats that are more present I choose the DMM. Its a lot closer to tape, which it was meant to replace when it came out. I took this over an EP-4 I had. The DMM sounded cooler, better to me anyways.

The AD900 has REALLY warm repeats that just blend in with everything. I can get some warmer tape sounds too, but I use it for when I need an ambient delay that melts into the background. I use it for solos sometimes too. It doesn't get all 80's Scorpions on you, which is nice.

For slapback you can't beat the DMM. Both are great for crazy oscillation. I don't use that trick much, but they both handle sonic mayhem very well too.

Make sure you try it before you shell-out though! The one I had, had been tampered-with (trim pots) at some point, and while the repeats were nice, it was rather lifeless and would not oscillate no matter what.

No kidding! (And yet no tube Copicat )

On topic: how does an AD 900 compare to a big box 5 knop DMM?
One day I'm going to put all my gear in one shot... I'll need to wait until my wife is out though! I might do a demo of the DMM vs the AD900 when it gets here.

What's one more delay? Seriously. This is one to keep around. I know better than to sell off another AD900. (or DMM, or AD80 for that matter)
I know, the benefit of having loads of stuff is that each small item is only a about 0.5% gear increase! The more you buy, the less each bit counts for. I also learned long ago that selling off gear you actually like almost always is a bad idea! I only ever sold one guitar I loved but I managed to get it back and learned my lesson quickly! Thankfully I've held onto all my decent pedals, amps and guitars over the years. Now, I ought to get some shelves for my music room!

Yes demos please! :)
I'd be curious to see that one-shot. You might need to buy a wide angle lens for that?

I wouldn't last two weeks without at least one delay.

I've got two on my main board and I almost always run through a tape echo too... I think I've got the echo Zen down with my two Ibanezes and a Copicat or Space Echo but I'm seriously lusting (ie bidding!) after an AD-900 for my to be completed mini board.

heheh...I guess it is all about styles of music...I listen to a lot of older music where you don't really get delayed sounds much, apart from slapback sometimes.

Neil Young and Low got me back into it..I've been burning through their stuff even more than usual, so I cracked!

it will be nice having one again for sure...I cannot wait!

it will be those days again:
