Without measuring to be sure it looks like they made the body too small. The only difference between a capri body and the 330 body is that they lowered the waist on the body and plumped up the body horns a bit. So it does seem they shrank it.
Also the centerline of the body looks to either a) have been incorrectly established or b) they glued the neck in at an angle.
Not trying to be "that guy" but since you mentioned that something seems off about it I thought I'd just add my observations. Otherwise glad you are happy with it.

It's a good looking guitar, not exactly the same as the original, the upper horn & neck pup seem a bit off but visually it looks much better than most R**ky copies. With some upgrades & mods I 'm sure it could be even better. The neck & back also looks good & the colour is close enough for proper rock & roll, playing a gig & being a working guitar instead of being a home exhibit! The RM 1998 & Carl Wilson guitars are not bad either.
All depends how much more you want to pay to upgrade it & how much it has already cost. Putting a tailpiece or vibrato on would make a big difference.

So, the ramp was wonky after all. Bummer!
It's no surprise that the hardware feels like junk. You hear that all the time with Chinese guitar manufacturing so it's no real shock. Switching them out for quality components will be an easy fix.
I guess the main bummer, if it had been mine, is the inaccurate body shape & binding. I guess, without proper measured drawings that was bound to happen though.
At least it sounds good and will hopefully be playable, once you sort out the frets.

You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

i'll paraphrase what you said earlier...if someone wants something that sort of "looks the part"...

that's kinda weird. you would think they would see it. but, like my friend has said "it's a unique guitar...no one else has one like it."PorkyPrimeCut wrote:So, the ramp was wonky after all. Bummer!
bit by bit over time...it will be fun.PorkyPrimeCut wrote: It's no surprise that the hardware feels like junk. You hear that all the time with Chinese guitar manufacturing so it's no real shock. Switching them out for quality components will be an easy fix.
i was just playing it for an hour or so...i didn't notice them at all while i played it.PorkyPrimeCut wrote: At least it sounds good and will hopefully be playable, once you sort out the frets.

Mike, I know you always say you aren't handy, but a small triangular needle file, some 600 grit sand paper, masking tape, and some 0000 steel wool; all from the local hardware store; is all you'd need to get those fret ends in good shape. (probably a $15-20 investment in tools and supplies)

You don't have to be a finicky as that guy. I filed and polished the fret ends of that Fernandes Strat I bought in about a half hour. All you gotta do is grind flat edged down the corners of your needle file to keep it from biting into your fret board. If you have or know someone with a bench grinder that will take less than a minute.

I finally finish building a guitar, go to play it, and then remember, "oh yeah, that's right. I suck at playing... Why did I build another guitar again?"

Hey, that turned out better than I would have expected!

I think he means that they don't look perpendicular to the center line. Like maybe all those parts are slightly slanted?
