Burny SG Custom Maestro Vibrola review
Heya dudes! I`ve always had a dream of this guitar :
But the original one costs like a good car. Modern reissue costs like a sh*tcar Just can`t allow it to myself.
So I was living my sad life without it until I met this guy on japan auction for 400bucks :
Alright, I bought it. In original condition it sounded like a crap, those ceramic pups are awful ( to my taste ). Bridge , stoptail, electronics, tuners - JUNK But I liked the neck, almost identical to slimtaper, which I got on my gibson firebird V.
I decided to make it look like my dream with a decent sound. Here's the list of things that I changed :
+ gibson '57 classics neck+bridge pups
+ roller bridge
+ mojotone electronics set
+ locking gotoh tuners
+ maestro vibrola set
+ gibson knobs lol
+ levi's strap of glory
This is how she looks now :
Yep it`s still not a gibson , but I love it
here`s the little sloppy clip

I never really liked the middle-pickup on SG Customs, I tend to hit it when I strum, and I never use that sound anyway.
That being said... God, that's hot as fuck... Wow...
Totally digging the idea of getting a nice replica, when you can't afford the real deal - most of these Japanese copies are really good instruments!
Congrats dude, that thing is awesome!

That is awesome!
I've wanted a LP Custom for about a year now but a good Burny/Greco is about the only way I'd actually go through with it. I've tried to learn a little more about them so I can actually start trying to find one but I've had kind of a hard time. Hopefully one day I can have an experience similar to yours because that is just great. I'd love to hear it!

Looks great! An old bandmate of mine had a white Gibson SG custom just like that one. Broke my heart when he hocked it at a pawnshop. Never saw it again.

I'm no gibson or gold hard ware fan, but this is nice. Really nice!

my dream guitar as well. I've always had an eye on the epi version, but Japanese copies are never out of the question. Alas, I have other priorities, so I will vicariously live through your experience.

unff
i've a line on this Burny via local CL and i'm really debating it:
it's an '80s model with PAF-style "VH1" pickups - i really want to try it out but
i generally dislike humbucker guitars - would hate to waste his time...

Oh hell yes!!
I LOVE these guitars - you have your SG tones, with the added bonus of a fatter Strat quack.
Well done!
