I'm glad the Edge was able to resist the pressure to reinvent the wheel with that one.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Re: New Edge Signature Strat and Deluxe
Does "contemporary C profile neck" mean like an Ibanez wizard profile? I'm just not sure on the terminology. If that's generally what it means, "moden profile" necks are what guarantee I will never be comfortable playing a PRS or their ilk.
Other than that and the giant sig on the headstock, that's a nice, inoffensive Strat.

I think that could be a good pickup combo. Tweed Deluxe - what's not to like about that? I'm not running out to buy either, but I do think their were some good choices made in the development of these.

Isn't it basically the David Gilmour combo? The FS-1 was his bridge pickup before the Seymour Duncan SSL5 was made for him.BK Verbs wrote:I think that could be a good pickup combo.
It's actually a pretty good Strat, if one wanted a Strat (locking tuners, good pickups, satin neck, tone on the bridge pup, etc).

Am I the only one who thinks it is a bit of "self-service" the guys from U2 are doing? Because of this.

Ha!!
I'm thinking it too now...
Nothing but self service, right ?
But, why Bono? He mostly plays acoustics if I recall correctly...

The cool thing is that we are all going to automatically get the guitar and amp installed in our houses and apartments whether or not we want or will even play them. It will also be really hard to sell them back if we don't.

Probably comes with a delay mode you can't turn off.

I do like some of U2's stuff, and I like the Edge (more so than bono), delay effects and explorer and all. But this does seem a little silly. It's a shame they didn't go more wild with it. It's just another strat with a signature on the headstock.

That's what I always say when they release another signature strat... You can only do so much till it starts seeming reduntant. But if I were to check out this strat without The Edge's name on it I would have to say it's a very nice Strat.

Re: New Edge Signature Strat and Deluxe
"As a member of Fender's board of directors, it's truly an honor to vote myself a signature Strat and Deluxe. I have to say, I didn't see this coming until I thought of it and suggested the board put it to a vote. Bono agreed wholeheartedly and the rest is history!" - Edgewilliamsanders127 wrote:Am I the only one who thinks it is a bit of "self-service" the guys from U2 are doing? Because of this.

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.
