Guitars are great!
I've been in the hunt for the "right" guitar for several years.
Now, I have 8 electric guitars^^
I have try the "one in, one out" thing, but nowdays I really don't want to get rid of one of my precious.
And I still want to be chasing guitars.
So after some tought about it, I came to the conclusion that I am a polygamic guitar lover.
I am happy with that.
Take care the skons is evrywhere !

I agree about Norlin Gibsons. But I disagree about which ones. I like the L6-S. I have access to a 335-S that is a shit-hot player. But I'll never get one since I have too many guitars. I'm more interested in oddball basses.

You're probably right, but we're talking a 60's Strat or Tele here, and that kind of cash is just nowhere near what I could ever come up with. Therefore the assembly-idea. But yeah, if I come across a vintage partsmaster, I might pull the trigger on that instead. But I want the assembly as much as the guitar in the end - I love tinkering with old instruments!
I just really, really like gear...

i've gone through thoughts were it's been "i should get one of each model by [brand X]" and other days where i say "only offset/only white"
but in the end, I get whatever i can get a great deal on... i think i like the discount more than i like the gear sometimes ;)
What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

I'd be more than happy with an L6-S! I looked at those, also. I guess that Bill Lawrence pickups are going to be a factor in this little collection. The guy seems to have done some great stuff.

I like that he focuses his attention with the pickups on the high end. The typical Gibson PAF type pickup has never really excited me, but Mr. Lawrence's stuff is almost Fender-esque in its clarity and presence in the high end (based on my very limited knowledge).

Now, the L6-S has "Bill Lawrence Super Humbuckers" in there, which upon further research are high output, ceramic pickups. Not really my thing, but from a collector's point of view, it could be fine.

I guess I've decided to be an actual collector of guitars now. Not sure why it took me so long or how far I can go with it, but I'm a collector at heart, always have been.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Guitars are not cool. Synth and Oboe are better.

Quoted for fact :w00t: (with delicious added Haxan), though in general Synth and Clarinet more commonly go together better.

A semi hollow of some kind to go along with my Jazzmaster and Strat as a third electric guitar.

I bought and sold, and modded ,a number of guitars until I was really happy with my current Jazzmaster and Strat, now I need a darker airy sounding guitar. Not sure which semi-hollow though. I am being attracted towards the es-335 for the sound but have never really bonded with Gibsons for some reason. It would complement my fenders well, but something less conventional would also be great. Perhaps a starcaster... if it is a cheaper guitar I would be less afraid to mod it I guess, and I have found that modding and experimenting on my jazzy and strat was what got me to the sound I really wanted. I also really like the chiming sound of Riks, but that is opposite to the idea of a dark sound to complement my fenders. Don't know.

I am on the big hollow/semihollow guitar search at the moment.

And whatever guitar it is, it will probably be red. I have a red guitar fetish.

Guitars I want :
- Custom Shop pre-'58 Strat (maple fretboard!)
- Epiphone Es-295 in Walnut with Bigsby
- Gibson Es-175
- Custom Shop Limited Edition 1958 Jazzmaster
- Custom Shop '56 Les Paul
- Epiphone Supernova (Noel Gallagher)
- Godin 5th avenue Kingpin
- Gretsch Pinguoin

But I already have enough guitars for the time I have to play them (5 electric/2 acoustic) and honestly I can do whetever I want with my CS'58 Jazzmaster and my CS Pro Tele (hotter them normal pickups so can do hard rock/punk rock stuff). All I need is a Jazzy and a Tele. But, I want more... I think we can call this consumerism. But, I dont have cash to buy some more anyway.
