Anyone else got any love for a G&L Fallout?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

Ooooh, yeah, that would probably jump the price up considerably.

@ BriansAWildDowner -

Have you owned or do own any Reverend guitars yourself? What you do think of them?

cheers

Well, I own 2 Reverend guitars, and the amp that they no longer make and absolutely love all of them.

However, the guitars I own are from back when they were still made in the USA. Now they're made in Korea (I think) and I haven't had a chance to try out any of the import ones. I've read lots of good things about the imports though.

When I get to the point that I'm ready for another guitar it will most likely be another one of theirs. I've heard the necks are pretty similar to the USA ones, and I like that they all come with locking tuners.

I received my first Fallout in February last year (black G&L tribute model) as being a fan of the Mustang I was intrigued by this new model. I found it a very well balanced guitar pickup wise and more versatile than a stock mustang. The overall build quality and playability also impressed me.

This led me to start looking for a U.S. made Fallout and towards the end of last year found one in the colour I was looking for (himalayan blue). Pics below. This is now my number 1 guitar and is a great quality U.S made guitar.

Nice colour. It looks very Post Punk / New Wave. Was that colour used on the early 80s 'SC' models?

I think a similar colour was used on the original SC guitars in the early 80s as it seems similar to some of Robert Poss' SC guitars :)

Amazon had one of these really cheap for a few days, in that lovely blue color, but I waffled since I have another HS guitar.

I *love* the way they look, only thing I like more are the Toronados with the stripe.

One thng I'd add an addendum to my previous gushing comments about the Fallout is that it's significantly heavier than I expected. I thought it would be on the lighter side cos the body looks smallish. But it's one off the heaviest guitars I've had. Although, to put that in context, I've never had a Tele or a Les Paul type guitar. I'd prefer the Fallout to be lighter. Maybe the extra weight helps with sustain, is that what is often said?

This is my problem exactly. My Tribute has given me mad GAS for a U.S made model, this in spite of not being totally in love with the looks.
I keep seeing one in CAR with a maple board that is just :? :? :?

That being said, I have a JB and Fralin I'm going to put into the Tribute. We'll see how things go from there...

Thanks!

My Tribute Series Fallout which I assume has a mahogany body as per the specs is quite light in comparison to the blue US Fallout which is heavier than I expected it to be, not an uncomfortable weight but still more than you would expect looking at the size of the body :)

I like these, I didn't know they existed before this thread but from the reviews I've read they seem like a bit of a bargain.

I'm another guy with a Tribute Fallout who's keeping his eye on some American-made models, but not for the reasons of build quality, or pickups, or status. I'm just madly in love with a colour combo that it isn't available in the Tribute Series...

Thats a great colour combo!

One of the reasons I was looking at the american models was for a stronger blue colour than that of the sonic blue offered in the tribute series, and I found that in G&L's Himayalan Blue :)
