Anyone else got any love for a G&L Fallout?
So, a while ago I traded Horseblanket (thanks dude!) my modded VMJM for his G&L Tribute Fallout. And honestly, my expectations were pretty low. I didn't particularly like the way it looked, but I thought I'd give it a try. What the hell, y'know?
Well, I've had it a while now and its proven to be a really great guitar. I'm still not that crazy about the way it looks, but in every other respect it's a kick-ass instrument. It plays really well, feels good, stays in tune and sounds great. Actually, given the low price, these pickups sound incredible. Far, far better than they ought to. And with the bridge coil tap, it's really versatile too. I can go from country to blues to balls-out metal with the flick of a switch. Very, very cool! Any other fans out there?

I got pretty excited for these when they were first announced, and I'd probably be fine with one if I had one, but I feel the same way about how they look. The sc-2/sc-1 is one of my fAvorite guitars, but between the pickups and the pick guard, the fallout doesn't quite do it for me.
That said, like most g&l stuff, I've yet to hear a bad review of how they function.

Yeah, I hear you. It's grown on me, but that may be 'cause I just dig everything else about it. Good thing looks are relatively low on the totem pole of guitar requirements for me

I custom ordered a USA Fallout. Sonic blue/ mint pickguard with the vibrato. It is a phenomenal guitar. Very versatile, gets all types of sounds. Plays great. Kind of a modern feel. I really like the design of these guitars. To me, the SC-2 looks kind of naked without the pickguard. I like the addition of the old Danelectro style pickguard.

I've had a constant little GAS for these for a while now. Would love to try one out, but they aren't that common around here. I actually like the looks - of course, they're not the Fender style we love, but still nice, especially in sonic blue/maple neck.

Yeah, Sonic Blue looks good...
I've got a Fralin P-90 lying around, and it looks like I'll soon have a spare Duncan JB (these come stock in the USA model). Might have to try those in this guitar soon.

Never owned one but played one but now want one. Looks like a Mustang a little but plays NOTHING like one. Has it's own feel. Love the neck pickup. The Tribute version is awesome too and 1/2 the price.
BTW - that red one nees tort.

Ha! It's funny, that's exactly what I thought. I even talked to SneakyT about making me a tort guard. Now I keep going back and forth: black (which would also look killer) or tort, black or tort...Subgenius wrote:BTW - that red one nees tort.

The guitar in the first post looks totally hot to me!
I would love to get an SC-2, but as long as they have the MFD pickups, I don't think this will happen. Too hot for my liking.

Band of Susans! I always keep an eye out for one of these going cheap....one day.
It's nice to be important, but it's important to be nice.

I love the G&L Fallout. I encountered the model late last year.
Tribute series version bought/ordered.
Fullerton Red finish.
I can't work out whether it's technically an offset or not?

I kinda like the looks but agree that the pickguard is the lowpoint for me.
Unfortunately I think I'm in the same boat w/ my ASAT Special. Really love everything else about the guitar but I'm discovering more and more that the MFDs are just too hot for me.mediocreplayer wrote: I would love to get an SC-2, but as long as they have the MFD pickups, I don't think this will happen.
