Wow you guys have owned a lot of stuff. And, now that I'm part-way through completing my list I realise I have too :-[

'94 - Ibanez Blazer Bass. Heavy as fuck, sold around 1999 for petrol/living expenses.
'95 - Strat copy with pointy headstock bought from Cash Converters. I tore this to bits then painted it forest green with spray cans. Left with crazy ex-bandmate around 1999, no idea what happened to either of them
'96? - Epiphone Les Paul, bolt neck thing. Heavy. Used for alternative tunings for a while, eventually traded for a terrible 'Monterey' Telecaster around year 2004/5 with another bandmate.
'97? - Hofner 173(ii), also purchased from Cash Converters. I STILL HAVE THIS. Exactly like this one. Sounds like a cross between a Jaguar and Jazzmaster on the neck pickup. My main guitar for many years.
2000/01? - Rickenbacker 620/12. Persevered with this for a while, ended up hating it.
2004/5 - 'Monterey' Telecaster in red mentioned above. Ended up stripping and refinning in poor man's butterscotch blonde as I was utterly sick of red guitars. I got a lead on a cheap set of EMG active pickups, which, it turns out, sound like arse. Used for alternative tunings on my first album. I gave this away in 2006/7 as it really sounded shithouse.
2004/5 - Brand new CIJ Jazzmaster in CAR acquired at Venue Music in Sydney. Straight traded the Rickenbacker 620/12 for this. Became my main guitar for many years.
2006 - Epiphone Coronet, one of the Korean reissues from the '90s. I resprayed this in a sonic blue like colour. Used for alt tunings. Listed for sale here in mid 2011, thread ran for over 2 years, put it on consignment locally for over three times the price listed here and it sold within a couple of weeks.
2008 - G&L ASAT. One of the tribute' models they briefly made in Japan. One of the best guitars I've ever played. Purchased while visiting Sydney with my good friends, one of whom is no longer with us. Still have this, sentimental value.
2010 - Hot pink Jazzmaster build. Guitar Mill, Allparts, Fender. Still have this.
2012 - Fender Japan MG65 Mustang Reissue. White/tort. Looked amazing, amazing build quality. Hated the neck profile and the bland sounding pickups. Sold on consignment very quickly early 2014.
2013 - AVRI Jaguar, OTM. All stock apart from black pickguard. Awesome. Still have this.
2013?- Timberidge 12 string acoustic 'traveller'. Still have this, part of the cost was a birthday present from family.
2015 - 12 string Jazzmaster build (Warmoth). Still 'needs work'.
2015 - Yamaha SG-50 from the early '70s. Have had this on consignment for a while now :bored:
2016 - 1987 G&L SC-3 that bounced around the FS section here a couple of times. Well worn, amazing playing and sounding guitar. A keeper.

I still own too much shit, even after offloading a lot of the lesser instruments.

^^^

Out of interest, which ones of those are built from the bodies you got from me?

My currently owned list is now:

2013 Gibson Les Paul R9 - an amazing guitar, I sold a few to own it, and sold a load more because it is so good
1964 Fender Jazzmaster - The best Fender I've played
1968 Fender Coronado - in LPB. I fall in love every time I open the case
Martin 00-15ME - small bodied mahogany Martin. delicate and sweet sounding.
1989 Epiphone Les Paul Std - My first decent guitar, owned from new and will never be sold. I never really play it either...
Aria Magna fretless bass - I like the sound.

And an 18 watt handwired Marshall with an attenuator. Plus a Roland Cube that mostly gets used as a headphone amp.

I have owned 130 guitars in my time - I'll post up the full list again at some point.

Bold guitars are ones I still have.

~1995 - Squier Strat - My first guitar, bought for about 200 dollars. Not a bad guitar at all! The biggest problem was it would break the high E string *a lot*. I think we fixed that after a few years by filing down the inside of the bridge a bit. I gave it to a friend around 2002. I hope someone's still playing it.

~ 1999 - Carvin DC127T - Could never get used to it. The pickups sounded bad to me, the action was too high, and the neck was uncomfortable. Sold it for...

~2001 - Fender Telesonic - Just a badass guitar, and the one guitar I really wish I hadn't gotten rid of. Gibson scale, mahogany body, DeArmond pickups... looked, sounded and played great. I sold it used for more than I bought it for new, to get...

~ 2003 - Ibanez Artcore AS-73 - Better than the Carvin, but always sounded a bit dead to me. I even swapped the pickups for Seth Lovers. Sold a few years later.

~ 2005 - Ibanez Artcore AF-105 - Big jazz box (sounds great for rock too though). Again, I swapped out the pickups for Seth Lovers. I still have this, I don't think I'll ever get rid of it.

~ 2007 - PRS Hollowbody Spruce - Played amazing, the neck was great, but the balance was all off, and the sound was "meh". I might've been able to improve the sound with a pickup swap, but the neck dive was awful. It got so bad I had a lead weight taped to the bottom of my strap just to get the guitar to hang well. Sold it for nearly what I paid for it a few years later.

~ 2007 - Fender MIM 50s style Telecaster - This guitar always seemed really tough to play for some reason. I loved the look but didn't like the sound or feel. Sold it at a big loss. In the future, I'd love a nice Telecaster with a Bigsby.

~ 2008 - Fender acoustic - It was only $200 and sounded great. It's on loan to a friend now.

~ 2008 - PRS McCarty Korina Soapbar - I went into the shop to play all the PRSs they had, and this ugly three-piece korina body kicked all the pretty maple topped asses. I bought aftermarket pickups but honestly the stock ones sound so good, I don't know if I'll ever go through with replacing them. If I could only have one guitar it'd be this.

2007 - Godin 5th Avenue - I got it modded with a floating mini-humbucker and controls put in the pickguard. I never liked the neck shape and sold it for about 20% or less of what I paid new :-/

2009 - Thinskin '62 Jazzmaster - Research for this brought me to this forum. It's a great looking, feeling, playing and sounding guitar. The pickups, nut and bridge have been replaced.

~ 2010 - Epiphone Casino - A Made-in-China one. Loved the sound but the quality of the hardware was not good. It got left behind in China when I moved out of the country. I do want a quality ES-330 or Casino again, eventually. Preferably with a Bigsby!

2016 - Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet - I walked into Guitar Center thinking I might get a J Mascis Jazzmaster. I was much more impressed with the Pro Jet. Great sound, great feel, great price... and my first Bigsby guitar! It needs a new nut though.

2016 - PRS SE 277 Semi-hollow Soapbar Baritone - Wanted a baritone, saw this one on sale, couldn't resist. It'll arrive in about 8 days.

Don't you already have a beautiful made in USA ASAT Special? :)

I...probably would trade mine for yours in a heartbeat. One thing I didn't mention is that it's HEAVY - Just under 9 pounds. By comparison my SC-3 is a featherweight at just over 8.

1991: Tokay Acoustic (19??) . This one was actually much cooler than i realized at the time. Left it behind when i was a high school kid attending a summer program at Bennington College in 1994.

1992: Peavey Patriot (19??) . Over the years, I upgraded it with an EMG-81 pickup, black Washburn Wonderbar tremolo and all black hardware. I thought it was cool then. My tastes are much different now! Sold it to a college buddy in 1999.

1994: Guild T-50 (1968). I bought this from my high school math teacher for $125. Even back then I knew that I was getting a deal. I suspect he did too.

1997: Ibanez Iceman IC300 (1997). My then girlfriend bought this for me for my 21st birthday. Relationship ended, I grew out of pointy guitars, and I sold it in 2000 to free myself of bad mojo.

2001: Fender Telecaster MIM Standard (2001). For many years, this was my only guitar. Decent little instrument, treaded toward my first American Fender in 2013.

2013: Fender Stratocaster American Standard (2011): Wow, did this open the floodgates on G.A.S. Still the guitar that I am most like to pick up if i only have 15 minutes to play around.

2014: Gibson Les Paul Traditional (2013): Guitar Center was having a blow out sale on 2013 Traditionals and I couldn't resist. I figured now I have the two "benchmarks," so i would not be buying any more guitars. Yeah, that didn't last long.

2014: Gibson Les Paul Junior Special (2010): P-90's are some of my favorite pickups. I love the look of Specials, and this one came up on the MyLesPaul forum for a nice price. I travelled to Maine and bought it.

2015: Fender American Special Telecaster (2010): After realizing that I really missed having a telecaster, this one showed up on Craigslist. Played it, loved it, now it hangs out with the Strat.

2015: Rickenbacker 360/6 (2003): Rickenbackers are some of my wife's favorite guitars, and three of my favorite bands (Smithereens, Fugazi & Eve's Plum) play them. Got a sweet deal on a very worn Mapleglo 360. It needs some touch-up work on the fretboard clear coat, but it sounds like a dream!

2016: Guild F-40 (1973): 40th birthday present from my wife. I had been lacking a nice acoustic in my collection, and this fills that hole nicely.

2016: Fender Jazzmaster (1978): "The Pink Beast," acquired a few weeks ago. I've been lusting over Jazzmasters for years, but they were always out of my reach. When this one came up for sale, I couldn't resist. Admittedly, the only reason I could afford it was because of the hot pink refinish job on the body. Still trying to decide what to do about that.

2014 - Fender '65 AV Jazzmaster, Firemist Silver

Basses:

2001 - NoName Precision Bass, Black
2003 - OLP MusicMan Sting Ray, Natural (refinished in Blue metallic)

The only sale I really regret is the Custom Shop Bass VI, but the MIJ version does the job well. In fact, I prefer the thicker neck on this one.

1991-1997: Unknown Soviet classical six-string-Attempted to learn. It didn't work out.
1998: Unknown Junky Acoustic Steel String-A loaner through a school elective. Strung left-handed.
1998: Aria AK-35-Restrung left-handed. Handed down from my aunt. Right side machines replaced after I accidentally tore off a tuning key. Still own though the inner label has been lost.
2000: Squire Standard Stratocaster LH Metallic Black- Still own. Bought from Guitar Center. I floated the bridge and replaced the pickups: Neck-DM Cruiser Bridge, Mid-DM Chopper, Bridge-DM Super Distortion S. High E string saddle cannibalized from a cheap, abandoned guitar after the original broke. Pots replaced and treble bleed mod added to volume. Tremolo arm replaced with one that fit better.
2007: Eastwood Hi-Flyer Phase I LH Black-Still own. Bought from Robb's Music in Boulder, CO. I started to really hate the neck and weight of this after realizing it was more of a Mosrite than a Univox copy. I was unable to sell so I got a set of Eastwood Phase 4 humbuckers and melted as much paraffin out of them as I could. After realizing that I was lied to regarding their drop-in nature, I removed the original P90's and in frustration, hacked in the humbuckers with a chisel. They are now held in place with the old frames and generous electrical tape. I strung the guitar with 8's so that it feels like even more of a Sonic Youth Frankenstein job. Tone knob replaced after cracking.
2016: Fender Kurt Cobain Signature Mustang LH Sonic Blue- Still own. Bought off of Reverb. I put 13's on to help maintain tuning while using the trem. The bridge pickup selector has been rewired for dual sound and phase: On humbucker in series, Out of Phase-Off-On Humbucker in parallel in phase.
2016: Fender Kurt Cobain Signature Jaguar LH non-aged Sunburst- Still own. Bought at Guitar Center. Bass cut switch retrofitted back onto guitar.

A while back I began a blog with all the guitars I've loved (or loathed):

http://anokaguitarworks.blogspot.com/

I've missed a few, and I'm always reworking the ones I have, but it is pretty accurate. Hours of time-wasting fun! :D

Updated as suffering work boredom...
sumlin wrote:Shit, this is a challenge...

Only counting stuff I played on recordings or gigged with (not counting stuff I bought and flipped)

1994ish - 70s Commodore ES335 copy - still own it
1995ish - brand new Gordon Smith GS1 - sold it, the seller sold it and I lost track of where it went. Last year I did an interview about guitar playing and mentioned it and the current owner gave me it back. Amazing!
1995ish - 1990 Squier Silver Series Telecaster - sold it, bought it back, sold it to the same guy, bought it back again and put a WRHB and a P90 in it. Love it.
