In have been looking at one if these... Still a bit undecided if I get this or another semi-hollow.niksureal wrote:just got this a few days ago. pretty extremely happy with it.
This Thread is not helping my GAS. Currently I have just two electric guitars and one bass, and I love both, a MIM Strat that plays simply too nicely and I modded with new electronics, and a TVL Jazzmaster that turned out to be great in every way. Both are incredible guitars that I plan to keep. The bass is a Bass VI that I have modded as well and am completely happy with, really an emotive instrument. I am gassing for a semi-hollow that complements best my my jangly strat and jazzmaster. I guess if I get something like the Reverend above it would be kind of a cross between a tele Thinline and a Jazzmaster but not enough of a different tone to the two guitars I have. Perhaps I should get a es-335 type of guitar for that deep darker sound... Don't know, I "need" a semi hollow though and all of you should consider yourselves enablers.
What do you guys think would be the perfect sister to a Jazzmaster and a Strat?.

I don't know enough about hollowbody guitars to say what a good, deeper darker sister would be, honestly.carron wrote:What do you guys think would be the perfect sister to a Jazzmaster and a Strat?
Here's some pix of My Wes Borland Yamaha.
Yamaha used a process called Takumi-Kezuri, a type of construction in which the back, sides, and center block are all carved from one block of alder.
Yamaha Artist Services Hollywood designed the "Custom 33" alnico V pickups-1st through 3rd and 4th through 6th string pole pieces are grouped separately.
The finger clamp system is the only con, as it took some getting used to it's rather inconvenient location.
12 degree angle on the Headstock, weird choice of not putting binding in the cutaway, but whatever paints yer face.
The pickups are designed to be bright & sharp sounding, perfect for the medium flatwounds I put on everything.
There is a much rarer white version out there, somewhere.

Thanks! It had several mm of schmutz built up on it and was pretty badly setup when I did the deal but after several hours of cleaning and an hour or so of overhaul and setup, I'm really into it so far. Really low, smooth action, intonates nicely, it sounds amazing plugged in clean or dirty and works pretty darn well as an acoustic too, I'm finding the vibrato is actually pretty useful for subtle bumps, and it's got a bit of a cool primitive "world's biggest cigar box" feel.SuperAxe wrote:Hmmm, that Harmony looks nice.

I am ever on the lookout for one, it's so nice to have a white-painted neck
