I love the sound of a good Tele! Here's my partstele. Korina body made by a local luthier, all parts neck, rio grande vintage tallboy pickups (with a 4 way switch) and a wilkinson compensated 3 saddles bridge

goddamn, these are my favorite guits these days.
buy a used one, upgrade a little, and for under $1000
you get all the best bits from Fender and Gibson.
I want about 20 of them for different tunings.
let's go!
I've got a real aching for one too, not too keen on the big headstock on Teles though. I may try find a cheap secondhand Blacktop Tele and swap out the pickups for some humbucker sized WRHB from The Creamery, would make a nice cheap alternative imo.
hmm, I actually dig the big headstock, and I dig the flat radius and Gibson-esque controls as well.
to each their own, of course - I DO wish I could get one with a rosewood fretboard.

and sumlin - great pic! is that Deluxe vintage or RI?
I'm thinking a vintage Deluxe might be in my future sometime soon.

I got my CV back today from being repaired, I wouldn't changed it for any other Tele I've ever played. I'd forgotten just how sweet it sounds in the middle position with my amp just starting to break up

I want to love Teles, but it seems I sell everyone I've ever had after a few months. Jazzmasters and Strats and occasionally a Duo Jet have been my go-to guitars. Recently, I picked up a Fender La Cabronita with TV Jones Filtertrons. I can't stop playing it, and in fact, have to force myself to pick up one of the other guitars just to spread the love around. I finally may have found a keeper.
"I'm nostalgic for conversations I had yesterday. I've begun reminiscing events before they even occur. I'm reminiscing this right now. I can't go to the bar because I've already looked back on it in my memory, and I didn't have a good time."

My Cabronita, now with brass saddles and a pickup ring for the filtertron!

The brass saddles are exactly what this guitar was missing.

I am being a bit self-indulgent possibly - this is posted twice elsewhere but I just HAD to share it. I love this guitar.
Baritone Tele tuned B to B. Fender Baritone Special neck with Robert Cray tuners, Tele Body with Bill and Bec Lawrence Pickups, Jag Tremolo and Mustang bridge, Original pickguard design. Notice how far back the tremolo is on this, to accommodate the 27" scale needed for the neck. The end result is only 1 inch longer than a standard Tele. Built by Steve Salvi of Adelaide to my drawings and specs.

That makes me sad, the fact that it's never been enjoyed and probably never will be when it sells for that price :(

I got a new neck for the Cabronita, so the old one went on the body of my smashed squier. Wired it up with a pickup I had lying around, and it sounds and plays really good :)
I'm gonna re-style it to mimic a Burns Sonic, with a black thinline pickguard and german carve on the body (which I talked about in the Cabronita's build thread).
