Not so much forgot, but "Didn't realize how much I love teles, until..." this guy came to us:

Image

All US made parts except for the neck pickup which is of unknown origin- body is likely ash, neck is from warmoth, bridge pickup is a fender custom shop nocaster pickup. Sound bright but not at all ice-pick-y, the neck pickup sound very similar to a stock tele neck pickup, only with more output of course. Feels great, plays great, looks great (except the super wonky pickguard that was handmade)- now I can't stop looking at teles on craigslist :D

Here are my 2 Teles...

1. Fender Telecaster
- Ash body from a Baja Tele and a '69 RI Thinline neck
- '69 RI Thinline hardware
- Lollar VIntage T pickups
- CTS 250k pots with a greasebucket tone circuit (love those things)

This is my dream Tele, I tried to make it look like a 1969 (ish) one...

2. Fender Telecaster Deluxe
- Lollar Regal WRHB pickups
- CTS 1Meg pots with greasebucket tone circuits

This is so F##KING loud as compared to my other guitars, but I usually run a compressor anyway, so it's alright. Those Regals are just amazing too... cost me $400, but they're worth it.

Nice guitars! I have a regal on the neck position of my MIJ telecaster custom, and I agree, that pup is amazing. I'm thinking of getting either a tele deluxe or a 72 thinline and modding it with regals.
Cheers man! It's so expensive but worth it. I've used the Tele Deluxe and a Jaguar twice this weekend for a gig. It's one of my favourite guitars. I reckon that a thinline would be a little bit nicer, the semi hollow body would open it up a little more.
What pickup are you using in the bridge position of your Tele Custom? my friend wants to get some new pickups for his tele custom but is afraid about the volume differences...

I'm using a lollar special, which has more output than a regular tele bridge pup. There still is a noticeable volume difference, but it isn't has bad and I've learned to live with it: I use a bit of pedal boost with the bridge whenever I need it, and I use the neck without boosting. Or I play rhythm on the bridge and leads on the neck.

Finally got a new aluminum pickguard for my tele yesterday!

I notched out the bridge plate for a bigsby
Image
The sloppy dremmel work kind of reminds me of my recent visit to the dentist, but I did manage to cut slits into the ends of the intonation bolts to make intonation easier.

Image
I thought about cutting the pickguard to accommodate the f hole, but my dremmel skills are not up to par for the job, besides I kind of like it as is!
Thoughts are no longer personal....

My baby... an 04 MIM Standard Tele. I've played various MIA's, MIJ/CIJ's, and Squiers, and this one just feels the best to me. She was in the back of a church not getting any use, so I traded another guitar + some moneys for it.

The only mods have been replacing the bridge/saddles (Fender 52RI bridge with Wilkinson compensated brass saddles), the knobs (Buddy Guy knobs), and the electronics (Twisted Tele on the neck, G&L ASAT Classic MFD on the bridge, and a 4 way switch). I'm considering putting a 22 fret neck on it (but I like this neck so much, I'm scared to), and maybe a black guard.

A few pics throughout its evolution:

This picture is looooong overdue

this one is a more recent addition to the family

I never thought of myself as a tele lover but I've owned eight different teles and finally settled on these two. No guitar feels quite like a tele

It's a P-90. It came out of my Gibson SG Classic and sounds great with the Lollar in the bridge.

I've been obsessed with telecasters about 25 years, but I've only been obsessed with Jazzmaster for a little more than a month.
