That strat looks great, Pf! The picture makes it look like it has a late 59 style burst. My favourite.

My self-assembled Ritchie Blackmore style strat - based loosely on the ones he was using with Deep Purple in 74 and 75 (although the bridge saddles and staggered pole pickups are not period correct).
MJT body, Musikraft neck - scallops by DC guitars. Love it!

Local shop has one of the roasted ash with roasted maple neck limited strats marked down. Very zingy and resonant. Nice full neck profile and light weight. One strat is enough for me, but if I was in the market this is a pretty great one.

The two I have left and will keep. Offsets come and go but these have just the BEST necks!!!
'83 MIJ Squier SQ-serial (all stock) and 70s MIJ no-brand "get funky" plexi Strat with 80s "Select by EMG" pickups. This one is HEAVY!

OMG, it's just like the Strat on the back of Lou Reed's The Blue Mask!

Re: Stratocaster appreciation thread
I put a Warmoth baritone conversion neck on my CFM strat, along with a new set of A3 pickups.
With the Classic Vibe neck that came off the CFM, I put together a cheap black on black strat. I had a good ebay coupon and got a new Squier body (with the bridge) and a pickguard for around $100. I had some GFS ferrite gold foils sitting around and wired them up with a 4 way switch and two knobs.

Re: Stratocaster appreciation thread
Have a couple other Strats, but just made a change to my knockaround guitar... This has had a few different setups from a stock Fender HSS guard, an HH JB/Jazz setup, most recently was a Duncan Designed rail with two Duncan Hot Jaguar singles...
But couldn't resist installing a set of- what else? Hot Golds (I know some colors still mis-match below, will work on this someday but it really is a cheap-ass guitar; $70 body & $30 neck from eBay, old Squier or Chinese ripoff hardware with the exception of genuine US G&L knobs and the pickguard is Decoboom if you can believe it.

Is there an optical illusion going on here? The writing on the headstock is reverse but the knobs are forward...

oh! good catch. That must be a strat assembled in a left-handed universe, but with knobs sourced from the right-handed ebay. That's my guess anyway

I'm digging the look of this. Was the $70 body one of those Eden bodies?Danley wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 7:32 amBut couldn't resist installing a set of- what else?
