NGD: Epiphone Revolution Casino...of sorts

Post by rbrcbr » Thu Jul 23, 2020 3:37 pm

Saw this thing on Reverb not too long ago and glanced over it, didn't think much of it at the time. It popped up on Reverb again the other morning and I made an offer as it hit me that it's the perfect platform for the Pelham Blue Casino project I've had in mind lately. Real thankful the other buyer backed out. See thread: http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/vie ... 9&t=115827

Guy accepted my offer, and two days later it's here!

Fralin P90 pickups, thin single coat of nitro sealer with a real nice patina to it, an extra set of chrome covers and gold knobs, gold Grovers - feels like I got a pretty good deal for what it is. Body came from the Epiphone factory, guess it was an extra 1 of 2 leftover Revolution Casino bodies that were lying around, this one purchased by an employee and built out. I know it's legit because it's got the fret binding nibs, Lennon serial number on the back, and the proper truss rod access routing that allows for a two hole truss rod cover. No unique serial number/internal labels which is a bit of a bummer, but considering my plans for it, proof of it being a Lennon Casino doesn't matter all that much. Stoked to say the least. It plays and sounds great, is nice and light, and the case is perfect. Just needs some fresh strings and some minor tweaks and she's golden.

Using photos from the listing as the light here in NYC has been terrible, rain in and out the past couple of days.

Now to source a bigsby, pickguard, and a proper two hole truss rod cover, and figure out what to do about having this thing refin'd. Anyone have a clue as to where to get a two hole truss rod cover for one of these? They're nearly impossible to find.

That's going to look great when it's finished. Pelham is such a cool colour for a Casino.
I am a huge fan of Casinos in general. Looking forward to seeing it completed.

I can't wait! I gotta say, as is - I can hardly put it down. Such a great guitar.
