Hey,
Just wanted to share an odd offset! Earlier this year (half a year after first playing it) I picked up a Refin Non Reverse 65 Firebird from Macaris!
Okay so now for the weird.... it has stock banjo tuners! Anthony was sure they are stock and
I worked at Coda a few years back so hooked up with Ryan for a closer inspection.
We took off the tuners and indeed there are no signs of the traditional six inline under the black light. I have also emailed pics to Gibson. Gibson thought they were stock but had no record claiming very little documentation on birds from this era still exists.
Has anyone else seen one like this? I’ve seen some other transitional variations but non like this.
Any light shared would be appreciated.

Re: Rare Bird - Non Reverse
did you check it with a blacklight or something? i know that's normally just for super valuable old guitars, but i would not be surprised if, underneath the refin, there was filled holes for the standard tuner/bridge/tailpiece drill patterns.
it's a cool guitar though, i love non-revs in bold colours as opposed to the usual burst.

I don't know anything about vintage gibsons, but those vintage firebird pickups are the stuff of legend. That's a super cool guitar.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

Both Macaris and Coda checked with the black light and there is no signs of any other tuner or extra holes there. I know black can be a tricky colour but the finish is old and shrunk and you can clearly see where the Vibrola and original strap buttons are filled.
Be great to see other odd transitional birds
