NGD Variax 300

Scored for super cheap today.

As a guitar itself it plays just fine. Comfortable neck, frets are smooth, nice action.

Of course it doesn't sound exactly like all the guitars it simulates.
The tele and strats are almost there.
The LP, maybe that sounds more like a chinese Epiphone.

Some of the acoustic sounds I really like.
The 12 string settings aren't bad on the Ricks and acoustics.
I'm not experienced enough with Jazzboxes and semi hollows to really comment.
The resonators are so convincing, maybe with lower gauge strings, I dunno.

If I play around with the reverb on my amp the banjo ....kinda sorta does the job.
The sitar, the b and e don't really have the buzzy sound. g and upwards sounds ok for what it is.

Going to have a fun time with a looper and this guitar!

Cool score.
I've always wanted to try one out, but I've never come close to one in the wild.
Closest I've come to a Variax was a Roland-ready Stratocaster that an old friend had when they were a new thing. Not quite the same, but close.

It was so wild playing open tuning riffs without actually changing the tuning. Felt really off though, as the tensions aren't were they would normally be.
Det er mig der holder traeerne sammen.

mine is the first run I think.

doesn't have the drop tunings.

that would feel totally weird when it's in standard but it's operating like DADGAD or Baritone.
dunno if I could wrap my head around it.
