That thing is fabulous. I want to get a semi- or full hollow body one day myself, I will have to look into these.

It’s funny, I used to listen to Jonestown Massacre a good bit, and saw them live in N.O. once. That is the perfect description for what I bet that guitar sounds like!

Stealth screwdrivers hidden in the strap pin - that’s some oldschool utilitarian James Bond shit right there!

Congratulations, very nice score.

It's a boost booster, to boost your boost - it makes your tone much muchier.

Cool find, congrats :) The Rubin / Kolor (Kolor was a very similar model, different headstock shape and bridge, otherwise pretty much the same guitar) pickups were probably best pickups Jolana ever produced - the rest of the "Tornado" hollowbody lineage (there were couple of models that shared the same body shape and overall construction) had either "Tornado" pickups or some kind of its derivate. These pickups are pretty unique for its time, since the AlNiCo material used for magnets was very, very rare in Czechoslovakia at the time - it had to be imported and it was usually reserved for military purposes only.

:w00t: I've just scored one of these! Never thought I'd find one in NZ, but I've had a search in place in our local auction site anyway, and to my amazement one turned up. You just never know. It's in need of some work, but seems to be complete and largely un-butchered. I'll post pics when I get it. 8) 8)

Congrats!

I've recorded a fair bit with mine, it's excellent for scuzzy, garage rock tones.
