Hello,
Have you ever seen a guitar that dirty ?
A Burny Custom from... under a bed since 20 years ?

It has Gotoh tuners but the electronic and pickups seems very cheesy... Do anyone have an idea where and when it cames from ?

The good thing is that it is very easy to clean... and satisfying !

No rust, the finish is in very good shape, the frets are almost unused.
The rosewood fretboard has suffer... it is dry like a desert.

How dare you remove that authentic patina!

Just kidding. That's...pretty gross. Amazing that it's cleaning up so well.

It doesn't even look like it sat under a bed for 20 years (at least, I couldn't breathe if I was in a bedroom like that). It looks more like it sat under a workbench at a wood shop for 20 years, gathering sawdust!

I almost burst out laughing at the electronics cavity... I hope you're putting in some real pots at least...

I really like resurrecting and repairing guitars so they play again -- great find you have!

Lift out the old wiring harness and start with fresh Bourns pots, Switchcraft jack, Switchcraft switch. Save the original harness in a safe place if you decide to sell someday. Decide if you want new pickups or use the old ones. Store the old ones with the harness. If the old ones are broken, sometimes they can be repaired easily depending on the situation. Check continuity with an ohm meter.

At least one of the fretboard inlays is pulling up/shrinking (gap in the first fret inlay). Get some 'thin' CA adhesive and carefully soak the gap and the CA will wick all around any hidden gaps and tighten those down. Otherwise they will soon fall out.

This is a Cort LP that I bought that had the fretboard white inlays falling out (prior owner lost the first couple). I removed them all and replaced with new material.

This is how you properly clean a rescued guitar (practically a meme now):

T-pain said it best:
“I see so much potential
Even though this area is a residential
Turn up the radio put on an instrumental
Burny* 101 pick up a motherfuggin pencil”

*well, close enough

Man, did you find this in the desert? That dust has such a strong orange red tint to it.
