I've liked the ugly shape of the D'Angelico Ludlow since the day it came out, but they are way overpriced. The low end starts at $700 and it isn't worth it for a cheap import (Indonesia). I got a deal on a blowout sale and I've now spent a total of $700, but that includes a nickel Les Trem, Reverend spring, nickel Schaller roller bridge, pair of Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pros, bone nut, and nickel Grover tuners. It now plays and sounds just like I like. Should I install nickel covers on the humbuckers?

Kinda sucks that they slapped John D'Angelico's name on these, but I'm over it. Everybody knows that the new models aren't real D'Angelicos.

100% better with the covers IMO.

It's a weird enough shape to work for me. Glad you got a deal on it, though. Sounds like it should be a solid guitar with all those upgrades.
