John 5 Telecaster

Post by HNB » Sat Feb 01, 2020 12:12 pm

I got one of these because I am on an HH Telecaster kick and it is really cool. I decided to pop a maple neck on it instead of the stock one and had a custom neck plate made. Stock pickups are actually nice. :D (Alder double bound body!!) Stock pots and switch work great. No crackle or noise.

HEY !

I’m seriously considering a gold John 5.
Nice to hear about the pickups. I figured they’d be decent since they’re in the CV line.

I still have the green partscasters JM with the French neck & Rose picassos!

Nice!

I really like it. Solid guitar and really versatile. (Plus double bound alder body!!)

What’s the neck profile like ?
I like them at least a little chunky

The stock neck is thinner which I like, but I wanted an all maple one for it. I think there are quite a few people who swapped necks out, but you never know until you try. :D I liked the neck fine. Just a looks thing for me.

John 5 while I am not the hugest fan of his music he is a monster player and he has the best signature Tele's in my option bye far!!!

I just put an Electrical Guitar company neck on one of his older ones came out amazing!

$800 for the neck after shipping and tax. The guitar about a grand took a while though, these don't pop up that often and are usually in crap condition or modified. I scored this one still has plastic on the back cover and is in excellent condition with original case and paper work. This beast is crazy, the pickguard is not just for show it has a brass back plate this thing is super heavy almost 13lbs. .Sings like a full blown aluminum guitar!
