I've often wondered about the EGC Bass VI replacement necks that pop up from time to time. There's a lot to unpack here.

1/ The necks are never insanely hot or insanely cold, unless you live in a climate with abnormal temperature swings like the extreme North etc. I'd actually argue they're a lot more thermatically stable than people seem to think, mine rarely goes out of tune unless I knock it off something.

2/ Heavy is relative, mine weighs less than your bog-standard Les Paul and people still seem to play those.

3/ The 3x3 headstock on an offset body isn't a new thing, it looks great on Gibson RD's or Dunable stuff, I play an offset with a 3x3 headstock and I always get compliments and questions about it https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn8phStHgnK/

I have a Bass IV with a wood neck and they are fussy instruments, not sure an Aluminum neck would be better or worse. Probably less maintenance.

Do it, I can guarantee you won't regret it. Just do yourself a favour and hang onto the original neck for resale purposes.

Still haven't tried any - they're quite rare in my neck of the woods - but I'm surprised no one mentioned Harvester Guitars yet:

Working on a few builds at the moment couple of these are getting aluminum necks here soon. From left to right Williams USA One off from Fender Body, Normandy Alumicaster Standard with Bigsby, Electrical Guitar Company Tyranny with 3 Single coils, Liquid Metal LMG T with Bigsby.

This was a great build, way overpriced if I remember correctly though. You could buy a standard production EGC for the same money.

Normandy rat rod V with an Amuminati all aluminum neck and Stetsbar. I may put the wood neck back on but it's pretty sweet!
