I'm considering buying an old Guild S-100 online but need opinions on whether or not it's worth it.
There appears to be a crack in the headstock near one of the tuning pegs. I asked the seller to confirm if it was a crack in the wood, not the finish, and they replied with one word, "barely."
I've linked pictures from the listing and want to know if anyone thinks this is a major issue or something minor that can fixed or ignored.

That first pic leads me to think it's a wood crack, not a finish-deep crack. Note how it radiates directly from the tuner's screw? I'm unsure how far through the neck the crack goes and I'm sure it'd be easy enough to have it glued, clamped and repaired to 100% functionality. My guess would be it isn't all the way through to the face of the headstock. I'd want it priced accordingly, but if you like the guitar and the price is right, that wouldn't stop me from getting it.

I agree, that is a wood crack not a finish crack, but if this was me I would glue it. It would be a simple fix. Whats the price at?

The guy had it at $1200 or something like that.Snake Hips wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 6:35 pmI agree, that is a wood crack not a finish crack, but if this was me I would glue it. It would be a simple fix. Whats the price at?
I tried talking him down, but he wouldn't budge. Said it was easily worth $1500 and something about how he needed the cash but was going to have the money in a day and would be taking down the listing after that. He was a bit confrontational too, so I stopped trying. I think it eventually sold for $850 on eBay.
