David, I don't even think you'd hang out with me to be honest. I stand by what I said.shadowplay wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 12:22 pmThat's like one out of ten banter, honestly if that was the chat even I'd be begging him to start telling me about his favourite magnets and what sunglasses have the best woman tone.

Oh I would, you're a witty man. I can't be the only one looking back to the great Simpsons craze of whatever 90's time it was and feeling glad it's over. Burn your novelty socks and ties people.

True for many things... (get that gum out of your mouth!)
I was excited to get a LP for the Dean Wareham, Alan Sparhawk, Joey Santiago, etc sounds in my head. Have fun shopping for one and try out some of the Yamaha ones if you can. They just make me think of all sorts of good UK post punk.

This would be that picture, from that album.
The studio version of Broken Chairs sounds a LOT like a Les Paul in parts.
And certain things on Ultimate Alternative Wavers and maybe bits of You In Reverse too
Buuut hey, whadda I know..., right?
Oh, yeah the lead player in Cracker too, forgotten his name.
And Superchunk.
I think I'll stop now, had to go to storage to dig out a CD for a pic.
After useless bloody Google images wasting my time.
Good luck Maggie.

But what about...
Buckethead, playing for Guns n Roses, introduced by Axl, does a nunchucks solo, followed by breakdancing, followed by um..I guess a Buckethead solo is the best name for it. He always sounds to me like a chatbot AI that was trained on a database of sounds from dial-up modems and tv robots. But I honestly think he's kind of going for that?

Anyway, he's trolling GnR fans, right?
And Maggie, you should probably just get a white baritone LP with a killswitch and be done with it. Err, I mean nunchucks.

The Yamahas are cool and my Andy Partridge love makes me kinda want a 70s Ibanez, too.cestlamort wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 7:52 amTrue for many things... (get that gum out of your mouth!)

Hey, I wasn't calling you out, I had just never seen him with a les paul. I have no doubt that there are gibsons on BTS albums, pretty much every guitarist he plays with uses at least one gibson during live shows.

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Dean Wareham has already mentioned, but here's another favorite of mine. Sweet LP toanz start at 3:20 or so.

Here's my Lester, a 1984 Studio Custom. I like some of the Custom cosmetics but I like the dots, and this is one of lightest and liveliest sounding LPs I've played.
