I am right there with you, it took me half a dozen sentences and numerous edits to just say use a decent quality leather, time has proven it kind to guitar finishes, and I did not even really manage to effectively convey that.
:D :D You're all good man.

That IS pretty cool about cork. I didn't know all that.

The only reason I'd mentioned fabric is because I'm staining the wood my typical brown, and I figured a black fabric would look better than open cork.

You can stain cork. Also there is a dark brown/black variety, it is most often found in the large granule 12"x12" tiles at office supply places, Menards had it last I looked, along with the small granule light brown 12"x12" tiles and the rolls of gasket cork which is also the light brown.

But fabric will not hurt, I would just install it in a way that it will not be a chore to remove if the cork needs renewing.
Logic gates based on billiard-ball computer designs have also been made to operate using live soldier crabs of the species Mictyris guinotae in place of the billiard balls.

Interesting. If it takes stain well, that could work well. We'll see what I come up with...

I'm in the process of building one myself so I am going to be keeping an eye on this thread.
