Gibson SG's... What's out there these days?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

Definitely check out some of the 90s and early 00s models, I've seen SG Standards slip for the prices of studios! The 2018 Gibsons are definitely worth checking out too, and they go on sale pretty often once stores have to clear stock for the new models.

I mean, if one comes along and all the other planets are aligned I'll definitely have a look, but around where I live currently every second hand SG going up for sale is one of the worn-and-faded Special ones.

Thanks for your input everybody! Maggieo, those are two gorgeous SGs, and yours isn't looking too bad either, Grey.

Probably the Original 2 is exactly what I'd want, but it seems likely to be both difficult to find around me and maybe just a tad over what I'm willing to spend. The 2018 Standard still ticks all the boxes I'd want one to tick, though, and for just around 1000€ also isn't insanely expensive. I'll read a couple of reviews, start saving up a bit and maybe start checking out the second hand market meanwhile. Should an Original 2 pop up, well, I've got my priorities now :?
Coincidentally it appears the SG Original are back in limited production. First time since 2014!https://www.zzounds.com/item--GIBSGOA19

Man, that rosewood is as light as Fender's pau ferro. When I stop at GC, I've noticed that all of the current Gibsons (even $3500+ models) have really light rosewood lately.

I guess it shouldn't matter all that much but when you're talking $2000, I'd be mad.

Man, that's one poorly timed coincidence right there, but if it means more of them in circulation it might still work out to my advantage I suppose. Thanks for the heads-up!
