That is one tasty SG. Nice score.
A friend of mine has one almost like it, it plays really nice.
Yeah - this one too. So much fun to play. I'm used to playing ES guitars, which are a lot of fun to play and have great upper fret access ... but the SG is just a different thing - though I am getting used to how 'long' the neck feels compared to other guitars - I know that probably doesn't make a lot of sense - but it's like Firebirds; when you're playing one on a strap it sits with the neck further off towards my playing hand and it's just something I'm getting used to.
I know what you mean, the SG neck is long, but Firebird necks are even longer, even though they are all the same length.

Soooooo nice.

I love SGs, but they don't love me. As Despot says... long necks. I tend to pull on them too hard and can super mess up the tune as I am playing.

Congrats!

That's cool - I took the control cavity cover off to take a look last night ... inside the original owner had posted his address and contact details, as well as a photo taken of himself (I'm guessing) with Lemmy! I think I can safely say that the SG is in a far more sedate pair of hands these days - though this guitar was clearly taken care of (well ... for a rock guitar that has also been clearly played). It's worth noting that while the body has a good few signs of wear and tear, the headstock is actually quite clean - the sign of someone who was doing their best to avoid a headstock break I'd say!
