I don’t know about everybody else, but this looks like a complete and total refinish to me:
https://applink.reverb.com/item/1390641 ... fiesta-red
This solder joints To the input jack look to of been touched up, as would be the case with the refinish. There’s also no “paint stick” In the neck pocket and the finish just looks “off” a little bit. I am pretty surprised that the seller (OK guitars)is trying to pass this off as original, especially given the price.
Anybody else think I’m nuts here?

To me, it looks like a mediocre refin at best, and you can also see that it has been refretted which the seller of course doesn't say. 33k. Some people.

Yes, forgot to mention the refret. I mean, most of these things can be noticed by even a beginner collector. I am just kind of baffled that it’s put out there that price with those obvious issues. The seller has enough very nice vintage guitars that he obviously knows better…

Re: 1964 Fiesta Red Stratocaster - Refinished?
Allegedly, in the UK the original importer of Fender met the demand for Fiesta Red Strats (because of yawnsome instrumental band The Shadows) by refinishing brand new guitars straight over the sunburst. I don't think anyone who worked for the distributors has ever said they worked there in and yes it happened. So could be dealer folklore.
But yes that's a lot of cash and an obvious refin.

Now there is an updated listing here with a bit more info:
https://www.gbase.com/gear/fender-strat ... esta-red-9
Not sure if someone contacted him about it. Acknowledges the possibility of a selmer refin (which it obviously is), but cites some European court that claimed it is the original finish ( in some lawsuit).
Right, and I’m going to trust some European judicial bureaucrat... it’s obviously a refinish.

Re: 1964 Fiesta Red Stratocaster - Refinished?
The guitar looks refinished and the whole story sounds crazy.
The previous owner decided it was refinished and then sued the guy he bought it from? And the seller refused to take the guitar back and fought the lawsuit in court? And then a European court made some decision where the buyer had to keep the guitar? And now it's for sale in the US as original with no photos of the neck pocket? OK, where do I pay
Europe is the last place I would go to buy a custom color Fender.
