NGD Peavey T60 from the 'Burg!

Post by HNB » Sun Apr 08, 2018 10:41 am

I went to visit my dad in Idaho and stopped in Ellensburg to have a shake at Jerrols Bookstore and decided to check out Boogie Music and see what they had. They had so much cool stuff. I was pretty amazed. Two of the Silvertone Twin Twelve heads and cabinets, an old Vox head, a old Gibson solid state combo, a Sunn combo.... Loads of neat amps. Guitars were pretty ok and I spotted a T60. I have kind of wanted one in white for awhile because I like the look of the bridge and the pickups and switch options are kind of cool. This one was natural and only $499 so I grabed it. It has its original case (that was painted white) and the pickguard plastic film in the case. (Kind of gross.) The body is four pieces. The grain is pretty cool looking. The neck is normal US Peavey. It has some scratches and such on the back, but nothing terrible. The tuners are the octagon Peavey ones. It sounds great. I like the phase switch. Almost makes the middle position kind of sound like a single coil. I love all the Peavey metal parts that they did that make these guitars so special. Not cheap run of the mill stuff. Custom plates, metal knobs, bridges, string tree.... even a metal nut! Here are pics. (The body is slightly arched, not flat across like a tele.)

Yeh, boogie man is where I got my jc-120. They always get cool stuff and since it sits there for so long you can usually talk them into a good deal. They had a NOS toronado for 2 years but it was comp orange so I passed. Idk if it's still there but they had an ampeg scroll bass for a while too.
What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

I didn't see the scroll bass yesterday. :) Those Silvertones were tempting. They also had a small Marshall clone head, but they wanted more than I wanted to pay. LOL

So, how much does it weigh? These are pretty legendary for being heavyweights, though not as bad as the basses of course...

Not super bad. It isn't light, but it is about the same as my Agile Les Paul style guitar.
